Sadowsky Gallery (Part 2)

Dude.. you gotta let me know how those Nordy's sound compared to the Sad's. I really miss my Sad PJ.. I just couldn't afford to keep it at the time. So.. when I get my next one.. now I dono't know if I want the Nord's or the Sad pups..
I wish I could, but I'm gonna' have to wait a bit on the Nordie. I'm pretty sure I'll have one at some point, but it's lookin' like '08 at this point. I have another Skjold and another 535 on the way, and that's tapped me out. :)

Woops... sorry.. I'm in too big a hurry, and mis-typed..

I meant the nordstrand pup's in that Sadowsky PJ, verses the standard Sadowsky Pup's...
Can't. I don't have any Sadowsky P or J pickups to compare anything to... I only have a NYC "Modern" (actually called 24-Fret when NYC).

You may have caught me mid-edit, as well... as much as I'd love to have that blue bass, I was just kiddin'. :) I currently have no specific plans for a Sadowsky J or P/J. Maybe in '08, tho. :)

Could this bass be seen as a "prototype" for the (alleged ;) ) M4-24, which may or may not be in a store near you by Xmas 20xx?

I do hope so!;)

This was a bass custom built for Tom back a few years ago.
It is a Vintage "P" bass with Soapbar pickups (in 5-24 Location), and 21 frets.

As for the 4-24...only time will tell. (or Maybe Roger will!)

my ebony board, ash body, 59 burst, tort guard beaut just came in, and yes folks, i actually did faint. pics to come.

and i gotta be honest, i HATE WITH TOTAL ABANDON ebony fingerboards, but after trying the shop's "fret lights" demo bass which had an ebony board / ash body, i became a new convert.

somehow the preamp, pickups, sad mojo have suddenly made it my fav fingerboard for all things sadowsky. i thought i was a maple board guy, but the ebony has that articulate edge, and yet doesnt sound brittle or clacky at all. goose the preamp, and that sucker just sounds fatter than the other boards on my other sadowskies! call me a new fan.

It arrived last friday. Best bass I ever put my untalented, unworthy hands on. If I described how it plays, you'll fnd the usual characteristics... how it sits in the mix, how it is fat, present, playable... All that is simply true!

I'll sell that Yamaha TRB 1005... and if everything works out fine on the job, in about a year I might be able to add a PJ 5....
