This is the body I have selected for my new Modern 24-5.
Specs are:
Spalted Maple on ash (natural)
Maple fretboard (vintage tint)
Nordstrand Big Singles
Black Hardware

So, my Bora Blue Burst arrived around lunchtime today and I've had a little bit of time to get acquainted. Gotta say it is drop dead gorgeous. Interestingly enough, the color does not photograph well and the color seems to vary quite a bit depending on angle and light - looks a bit different than any of the photos I've seen to date. The core of the body is more torqouise than appears in the photo - almost a touch of green there blending to an awesome blue around the edges. In bright sun and looking head on, the bass appears fully torqouise - other times (particularly from an angle), the darker pieces of the quilt actually start to look like the blue around the edges, creating a really cool ocean-like affect. All in all very nice - and unique. I tried to get some pics myself that showed the color off more true to life, but couldn't get anything nearly as good as what the Sadowsky team shot...
With the slightly undersized body and extreme light weight (7.45 lbs), it was almost disorienting compared to my larger and much heavier Fender. The sonic differences between the two were apparent immediately, just jamming along with some streamed songs across the web. The Sadowsky is all folks talk about - thick, warm, musical, with more presence - full and even across strings and up\down the neck. Really happy with the ash\Braz RW\single coil pickup conifguration. I tried an alder\RW metro UV before I placed this order and thought the combo I picked for my NYC would be even more my thing. I was right.
Best of all, I got the green light to purchase a Bergantino HS410 today also, so will have my rig fully complete!
Can't wait to play with the band this weekend!
