Where does Roger get Brazilian rosewood from, I thought it was on the endangered list?

Pau Ferro is common for a fingerboard wood. Very many luthiers use it.

They are banned but you can still buy Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards from old stock (pre-ban CITES certified stock). They're very scarce and expensive, especially for top quality bass fingerboards.

Yea Its brazilian, not pau ferro. Very dark, beautiful. I had a '66 P with a similar looking board. Did 2 shows over the weekend with it. My drummer loves my Sadowsky 5 JJ but even he remarked how good the pj tone was. The neck profile is off the charts, perfect for my hands. I love this pj

I agree with the rest of the crowd. Killer colour. Congratulations on a lovely bass. I'm with you on the brazillian rosewood board. I have one on my '59 burst quilt-top V5 and that bass sounds amazing. Punchy, warm, and clear all at the same time. Love it.
