Can you believe it guys? Saw it online. I drove to the shop hoping it wouldnt play good so I could take my cash and put it back in my pocket. Well, I was wrong. It played amazing. Sounds amazing. Looks amazing. It is amazing and light as they come. It looks so darn good next to my other Sadowsky's, too

I will be seeking therapy early next week!!! LOL

Rob

Wow! Another bass that looks exactly like every other Fender ever made! Congratulations!

Keep in mind I HAVEN'T played one, so in all fairness, I know very little about them. But from what I can see $4000 can buy you a much better bass.

Comments like this truly bewilder me. I can understand folks who believe that no bass can be worth $4000, or that the extra price of a Sadowsky can't possibly be worth the extra dollars over a Fender. But to conclude that $4000 will buy you a "much better bass" than a Sadowsky without ever having played one (and presumably, never having played the "much better bass" either) suggests that what you really mean is that $4,000 will buy you a "much prettier bass," since you seem to have already ruled out sound and playability as defining attributes of a good bass.

+1 If you've checked out the Bowlus GTG thread, we had about every high end bass that exists there, and the the Sadowsky Modern and Vintage were on the top of most of our lists... which quite frankly surprised me.

Have you (or anyone up in NY), played the beautiful Bora Blue Quilted Maple Standard with the maple neck. I just love that bass, but I noticed it was 'on hold' and then returned, and it's been there for a long time now. I wonder if it has dead spot problems or something. I'm actually quite interested in that bass... I love my RV5, but am thinking about an MV5 with single coils.

Thanks in advance.

Ken

Is it just me or are you folks also geting tired or the ******** comments by some? I really feel like a good 60% of Talk Bass members are absolute idiots. Not because they don't like Sadowsky. Hell, like what you want. But how can you comment on something you have NEVER touch or tried? Baffles me.

I wonder if they had the money, would they say "no thanks, I don't want a Porsche. This Jetta is just as good." :eyebrow:

ROB - Post all you want bro. I love seeing fellow smart people ;) show their basses.

I'm just saying, in MY opinion $4000 (or whatever they cost, I'm honestly not sure) is a lot to spend on that type of bass.

Well, I've got a couple of those $4000 basses - Ken Lawrence Brase 5 and an MTD 535. I like the Sadowsky just as well as I like them and it is worth the $$ to me. I've tried LOTS of Fenders and they are not even close to the feel and tone of the Sadowsky.

IMHO - comparing a Fender to Sadowsky is just like comparing an Ibanez to a Sadowsky! I'm sure I'll piss some people off with that but Fender has not made any real improvements in their instruments since the late Ice Ages!

HI

Thanx for all the comments. I love the look of vintage Fender jazz basses. Thats what drew me to Sadowsky initially. Yes, it looks just like one for the most part. Then you plug it in and your life changes. Mine did anyways. 14 Sadowsky's later, I'm still buying them. I love the playability, weight, looks, amazing detail and finishes, and most importantly the musical tones I can acheive with only a 2 band eq!!!

Its my bass. My tone. I'm hooked.

Tort guard? Good idea

Diggin this pj!

60 percent idiots? That's a pretty low estimate!
