As far as this, I think it will be handled as it is now with any existing commercially made widget made in that part of the planet. Only with a closer eye than most and with the weight of Warwick. Maybe.

indeed... yes you're right, maybe you'll get it less on the other side of the planet... but believe it or not, I've spoke with a few of my friends who are planning to get their Sadowskys in the next few weeks... they have pulled back their decision already....

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that there aren't pockets of badness and shady business practices going on there. There certainly are. But there are also pockets of quality coming out of China as well, and it's not a sure thing that Chinese-made stuff is going to be bad.

Not sure why any business would be setting up shop in China these days. Trade, tariff risk, Hong Kong, social credit scores, lots of reasons these days. There must be other options. Or maybe Warwick has established facilities that will be utilized. But a China production decision right now seems an odd business strategy.

There's a big market outside the US. They are not setting up shop they are expanding product lines to be produced to keep the production up, and therefor the cost per unit lower, it's likely that the lines are running under capacity, and every step closer to capacity lowers the unit cost. Seems like a winning proposition.

The ME line will be made in the "Warwick factory" which does not equal a random Chinese shop making these "Chinese made instruments".
The instrument design is proven, the CNC programs are the same, the only variable compared to Japanese made MEs would be the woods and electronics(?). If pickups and electronics will be the same, then the only variable is the wood. Will Warwick and Roger ensure proper wood quality supply? I tend to believe so.
I was on the market for a second Sadowsky to complement my NYC 5. If MEs will be even less expensive than before and more readily available, I am happy camper.

Heck, I would accept a modest dip in quality if the price stays in the area of $1K. If the price ends up around $1,400-$1,500, but with higher production, there should be no dip in quality at all.
