I have much less confidence in China production, yes. My iPhone is great. The counterfeit running shoes I was shipped from an Amazon seller was much less reassuring.

Sadowsky in distribution agreement with Warwick

With whom would Sadowsky partner in America? Peavey, perhaps my favorite brand all time, collapsed trying to make affordable quality instruments domestically.
Maybe you shouldn't have bought a counterfeit.
I bet an official Chinese Sadowsky will be 10 times better than those knockoffs in ali express.
I own one of those dreaded Chinese Warwicks that retails for over $2K. It’s a great bass!
A Sadowsky that will compete price wise with Sire is an awesome move.
Warwick really does have a tremendous state of the art, eco friendly, facility and a massive selection of woods available. If you remove all bias and were searching for a factory to manufacture your products I don’t think you could choose better.

So we have ‘pre warwick’ Sadowskys’, then ‘transition Warwick Sadowskys’ and Warwick Sadowskys’ to look forward to! I predict that the quality will be great, but there’s definitely some magic about those pre Warwick Sadowskys(Speaking as a current MetroLine owner).
Maybe the new ones will be even better. I guess we'll find out soon enough!
Hi Everyone....I have been at the Warwick Factory all week working on the NAMM instruments and meeting with folks from the media. I can tell you that the quality of the instruments are Amazing!! I also have limited internet access at times. I do not have the time to read every post which are mostly speculation and opinion. However, if you have any specific question for me that you would like to post, please go ahead and do so as of December 28. I am on Holiday until then and I will not have the time to backtrack and see any questions posted prior to December 28. Thank you.

Thankfully for all of us Sadowsky-philes, he's a regular poster over on the Sadowsky Mega Thread.
So much this, or as I have said earlier go to that great brand black hole that is Fender Corp.
Continuing to enjoy the harmonious balance and finesse that Roger's take on a Leo inspired design brought to us, that is the positive take away.
Hans Peter, Wicks may not be everyone's cup-a , but the machining and meticulous engineering, seem like a good fit. Certain Warwick's are a derivitive design also, and there are some who hold a grudge over that.
China plants make many components or complete assemblies for so many business sectors it's unavoidable.
Honestly all this bristling over origin of a largely machine made product must be driven by emotional factors more than logic, and socio patriotic phobia seems to contribute.
On the grand stage the vast majority of manufactured goods the world buys is manufactured in Asia.
Get a grip, you want Roger's DNA directly infused in the object your options became more limited.
My guess is that offloading the management of the offshore product will allow time for Roger to make some of his best product ever out if NYC.

I own neither a Warwick, nor do I own a Sadowsky. I’ve only played a few Warwicks, which all impressed me with their tone and quality construction. I haven’t seen a Sadowsky locally to try out, but I’d love to.
I’m a big fan of Spector’s Euro Series basses, and as we all know, Stuart sold his company to Korg. From what I see, IMO Korg’s doing a fine job with the Czech-made line. And from what I’ve read on the Spector Club thread, all is well at the Woodstock Shop.
I’m confident that Roger did a lot of research before he decided to commit his imported line to Warwick. I really think this isn’t anything to be worried about at all.
My local music stores carries Warwick basses, so I’m hopeful they’ll soon have a Sadowsky (or two) up on their wall.

I know I sound like a broken record, but tire kickers like me or even those who have bought a few NYC Sadowsky’s questioning Roger Sadowsky’s business decisions is way over the top. Personally, I hope the prediction of a Chinese Sadowsky at the $1K mark comes to pass, but whether that happens or not, it looks like Sadowsky is transitioning to a full line like MTD and Spector. That has got to be a positive for bassist’s.

The quality/tone of the Metro series was a gateway drug to my two NYC’s. Because BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD.
I am sending a kid to college this fall; if the budget priced Sadowskys come to pass, I will sell some stuff and buy one, but I don’t see me spending big money.
