San Antonio Spurs!!!

Not just that, but he has grown very accustomed to wearing it. Bill Laimbeer was the same way, he wore it at first because of the busted nose, but kept wearing it because he felt more comfortable with it on.

Actually, getting comfortable with it was the third step in the process. He intended to play without it but was told that one more hard collision and his career would be over. That is still the case. He is comfortable with it now. Laimbeer could have stopped wearing his but he chose to keep wearing it.

Congrats Pistons! Very good team, I said TEAM! I prefer see a "boring" finals (not to me!) like this with two teams which share the ball than Lakers!

Congrats Spurs, nice one, first without Robinson, Hope it's the start of a huge collection.....

See Detroit next season for Finals 2006....

Thank you to the Spurs for not embarassing me in this thread. What an awesome game. I was watching it with 10 or so other people, and the room was equally divided between Spurs and Pistons fans.

Also....thank you to everyone in this thread for the great basketball chat. I post on a couple sports message boards, and I had to bail out of the Finals chat since it turned into guys yelling "______ SUX" all the time. It was nice to have a civilized discussion about the Finals with some people passionate about both sides, and yet respectful to others. Now I'll just sit back and watch for the NFL to start.

I knew the Spurs had it in them! Awesome win.

...dude, are you the SAME guy that was sayin' "They're gonna lose, they're gonna lose..." about the Spurs Tuesday night???

;)

Tough game last night, the Spurs finally decided to play some solid defense from the middle of the 3rd quarter on, and Duncan got aggressive on offense. That turned it.

Pistons fans.. whine about the officiating if you must, but don't forget to set aside a little time for arson. :p

I didn't see any overwhelming bad calls in either direction, thankfully there hasn't been a huge noise from the Detroit contingent here about that. I haven't seen any reports from Detroit about said arson incidents....and I'm surprised! ;)

OK, you got me there.. :D
You must admit, the Spurs did not look like championship material in Game 6. And, I'm very good at conjuring doomsday scenarios. When the Spurs went up six with 30 seconds left, I thought, "It's over." And then I thought, "Wait.. the Pistons could hit a three, then commit a quick foul, and the Spurs miss the free throws and the Pistons hit another three and it'd be tied."

....whew...I thought I'd had too many of those Old Town Browns before the game, and I was hallucinating....

:rollno:

Was there any arson last year when they won? No there wasn't.

Whinning about refs? Man they suck!!! Facts are fact!!

Hats off the the Spurs! Last night Detroit beat themselves by not shooting well as they did in game six. The refs did suck but I don't feel they affected the outcome of the game. Detroit fell apart in the 4th quarter. I guess if we were going to lose at least it's to a team like the Spurs. :bawl:
