San Antonio Spurs!!!

As a native Detroiter planted right among a bunch of Spurs fans, I've been representing like never before. Each time my boys step up, the Spurs fans automatically go on *MUTE* mode.

Here's to hoping that the boys put these cats on *MUTE* one last time. Fantastic series, Game 7 is gonna be all hustle.

GO PISTONS!!!

Yikes!! I missed the game tonight live, but I'll watch the reply on ESPN in a couple hours. The Spurs are making me look bad now. If I was a gambling man, I would have put a large sum of money on the Spurs in game six. I am really surprised how that turned out.

Don`t worry. I believe Spurs will finish this in 7.

I don't know about that, Detroit seems to have a good handle on Manu Gerbilly. Horray is the guy they have to contain.

Ginobili....Horry....
I think Spurs will be more invloved into Game 6. After watching the game, I think they were not really in the game, as they were in Game 5....
That will be different in Game 7!
My quote, Spurs in 7!

Is it me or do those refs just SUCK! Seriouslty, not being a homer fan for my boys. It seemed they were trying to give it to SA.
I think the refs are inconsistent as all get out. Some of the stuff they call on Rasheed they don't call on the Spurs. Maybe I am too much of a Pistons fan, but the lack of call on the Spurs for initiated collisions with the Pistons guards is unforgivable, the refs got one eye open.

It's B.S. I watched the game again last night since I taped it, watched some of the calls. Even the President of the NBA (I forgot his name) mentioned the Spurs and Gerbilly in his little interview at half time. It's a conspiracy!!!

Crawford is notoriously known as being an anti-Detroit ref. Dude is horrible.

There have been some pretty bad calls and non-calls going both ways though. Its not even the stuff that's tough for them to see real-time-on-the-court (but easy for us to see on TV or on the replay)... they're blowing some obvious stuff.

I agree. I don't have really vested interest in this series, so I can say without much hesitation that both teams are finding themselves on the end of some very stupid calls/no-calls. NBA officiating has gotten better over the last few years, (Lakers-Kings a few years back, anyone?) but it still has a way to go.

All that said, the officiating hasn't cost either team a game yet, as far as I've seen. Let's hope for a well-refereed Game 7.

Ok, let`s try again ....

Do it slowly ..... take your time ...... concentrate .....
Repeat after me: Ginobili.

Once more: Ginobili

That`s it. You see. Is not so hard. You just gotta try.

I know your the expert on the Argentinean contingent, quick question, Is Carlos Delfino any good? He was hurt most of the season, but I was hopping for big things from him.

Well, I´m no expert but watch a lot of basketball.
Delfino is a great player. He´s skilled but still quite young (he´s 22 IIRC). He has a tremendous potential but I don´t see him fitting easily into a mature team like Detroit.

He had some (brief) good moments during the regular season.
I believe he still has to earn minutes, take better decisions and grow a bit, but he´s definitely a good player.

Sorry folks, I found this thread waaaay late. From the title I though it was a Spurs schmoooze-fest, but it's obviously a good thread on the Finals in general.

I give mad props to the Spurs for being a mirror of what Detroit was last year and is again this year. A TEAM!

As for the refs, I do see a bit of an anti-Detroit and anti-Rasheed bias. In game 6, one of the Spurs (Horry?) got a foul and was protesting it at least at the level that gets Rasheed a T. Meanwhile, waaaaay down the other end of the floor, Detroit's "favorite :hmm: " ref is giving Larry Brown a T. ***!?!?!?! Unless Larry questioned his lineage or sexual orientation, I can't imagine what he did to earn that one. Why was the ref even down by the Pistons bench if the action and dispute were taking place in front of the Spurs bench?

Obviously, I'm pulling for the Pistons in this one. It will be home court advantage v Pistons being in the Spurs' heads. Especially Tim Duncan. He has developed a mental block at the free throw line. If that continues, SAS will have a problem. Now that Tayshaun Prince is starting to re-exert himself, I think the Pistons can take this one.

Peace,

James

I know this much Gerbilly gets as good of whistle as Michael Jordan! Breath on him, send him to the line! Basically unless Rip's getting twenty stitches he's not going to the line! You guys know there's going to be a new thread tomorrow, THE DEEEEETROIT BASKETBALL thread!

Ain't that the truth!

Detroit has to beat the SAS and the refs!
