I do like hockey. I have been to many Winterhawks games, since I am from just North of the Columbia. There are banners inside Memorial Coliseum of former players. One is of Cam Neely. I pointed it out to my wife and asked her if she knew who it was. I had to give her some hints, but after I said he likes Boiler makers and manly love at 2:15 am sharp, she said, "is that Sea Bass?!?"

To be honest, imposing limitations CAN bring out ingenuity and creativity. GameFreak only had 4 input buttons and 4 directional buttons at disposal when they've conceived Pokemon RGB. 20 years later, its a bonafide classic.

A lot of actual bonafide classics had a joystick with one or two buttons. 4 input buttons... luxury.

Stig Pedersen actually has been playing Two string basses for 30 years, sporting them with Disneyland After Dark since the eighties. But that switch around bass you show here isn't that bass I'd associate with him, because that would be the one in this video.

It would be too limiting!
How could one play the bass to "Unquity Road"with speed and precision without shifting ten frets up to get the tenth intervals?
You also couldn't let all three chord notes ring over each other as needed.


You couldn't even do Disco octaves on that!

Yes I was too LAZY to read thru the entire thread so my question is what is the stability of the neck on a 2 string bass, is there Titanium rod in the neck, is there graphite for support, I mean that neck in the video is so narrow & long is there any stability to the neck especially when you string it up and there is added tension?

I agree that as a main instrument it is too limited. If you solo, like in fusion or jazz, there is no place to go easily. Slapping and popping? An octave is hard to get on that instrument.

But I do see its merits

a) For helping someone new to bass learn the two bottom strings without the distraction of other strings.
b) I am trying to learn the upper two strings on a six string tuned EADGBE (like a guitar). I have often wanted to force myself to focus only on those two strings as I read charts. A bass like this would force that if you put a B and E string on it, in that order, going from low to high frequency. Although could could just as easily remove your bottom four strings on a six string.
c) For forcing you to learn upper register notes on the E and A string.

I wouldn't buy one though.
