I think soI get the feeling the VT preset is just that, made to sound like the VT at a certain setting, rather than emulate a VT and get all the tones a VT can get.

Limelight by Rush?Initial thoughts: super easy to navigate, and sounds good. Respectable noise floor, definitely a noise gate on all settings. It works really well to keep it quiet but it's also very noticeable with headphones.
The presets are just as you'd expect, some are great, some aren't. I do wish there was more descriptive language for some of the presets. What is Lime?? And why are there 2 Flip Burger presets??
Anyways, I got the VT to sound almost identical to my analog VT settings, and the Paradriver sounds exactly like I remember. I am however having trouble getting the Sansamp to sound like my V1...
Back to it!
That’s a pretty essential control on the VT. There’s got to be a way to adjust it …?I got mine yesterday and it's pretty sweet. The thing I like about it the most is the fact that it has the bass driver, vt and paradiver.. the only thing I don't get is how you're supposed to just the character, as in on the VT on that. There's nothing in the manual that I saw and there's obviously no dedicated now for that
Id like to think, but i haven't found it.That’s a pretty essential control on the VT. There’s got to be a way to adjust it …?
Huh. Guess it is simply an emulation of a VT at some unspecified character setting. I generally always set mine about 10:30Id like to think, but i haven't found it.
Alot of the presets sound great just as they are. So, this can work, or a regular programmable bass driver. This has mid and mid frequency, so its like a bass driver v2 programmable and moreI don't speak the same language as you guys. I am WATCHING but not altogether understanding your discussion of this new ELITE machine. I don't have any Sansamp gear but I know how yummy they sound. I'm thinking of waiting until I can get this ELITE. Here is what I want:
1) Three presets
2) Sansamp awesome sound
3) Useful Drive grit capability
4) Opportunity to play with effects like chorus, phaser, flanger....whatnot
4) Ease of use
Also, it sounds like this thing has presets for cab and amp emulation. I really don't want to 'program' anything. I want to just 'use' it as-is.
This is what I was thinking. I have the Fly Rig and love it. Was thinking this may be able to replace and offer much more options in terms of effects. This thing is the next evolution of the Fly Rig. I wouldn't call it a multi-fx. It doesn't compete with the HX, Zoom, or Boss stuff in that way, IMO. No pages of stompboxes, compressors, or amp models. It's definitely less complicated and less tweakable than those offerings. This is more of a way to have Sansamp flavored presets. Bass driver with chorus? VT bass with an envelope filter? SVT with some overdrive? Done done done. The Octafilter and compression on the Fly Rigs were definitely not for me. The Elite lets you have just enough control over those effects to make them usable. It really is a mix of the programmable Sansamp and the Fly Rigs.
I dig this notion…a lot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This thing is the next evolution of the Fly Rig.
Here : Tech 21 USA, Inc.I looked for a mailing list on the Tech 21 site to keep up with information and didn’t see one.
The XLR is preset for mic level which works best with most mixers.Looks like there is a preamp level in at the front of the chain now, but I don’t see a pad for XLR out, just boost on back for 1/4 out. That is probably fine and practical enough.
I like the looks and functionality of this, but I don’t want to do menu diving on the computer. May not be the one for me. Really looks great though.
The Elite does not function in the same manner as some of its analog counterparts. On the Character Series pedals the Character control was a dual function pot. On the Elite, the Amps are modeled for specific sounds and you have three controls for mids in the editing software that have a wider range than what is available on the analog pedals.Obviously on the regular VT pedals, they all have the character knob which is the main component to that. There is no knob for that and there is no mention of how to adjust the character in the manual.
Appreciate the info. Assome pedal! The Elite does not function in the same manner as some of its analog counterparts. On the Character Series pedals the Character control was a dual function pot.
