SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver ELITE

Does anyone know at this stage, can I turn the compression completely off?

How did you fix it? Mine won't connect either
At the top left of the screen next to where it says help I forgot what it said but it was a button I clicked in it and it had midi inputs on the drop-down menu I went on there and switched the inputs on my laptop to the USB port that I was plugged into. It wasn't reading it for some reason because I wasn't connected to that USB port

Hey all... I've been looking for a simple pedal to manage like 90% of my sounds in a live situation and what I'm seeing in the NAMM videos looks promising. Prior to finding the SansAmp Elite, I was considering getting a Mesa Subway pedal, compressor pedal and some multi-effects...which quicky adding up to Anagram territory. I downloaded the manual form SansAmp and the software (just to check it out) and I'm happy about how that all seems to work, but there are two things that are making me hesitate.
1) It looks like the IR/Cab sim feature can be turned ON or OFF globally across both the XLR output and 1/4 output, but not separately for either output. This could be really limiting, because I like IR/Cab Simulators via the XLR output for direct recording or as a DI on stage, but I would never want to run a cabinet simulator into another cabinet (the 1/4" output to my amp on stage). Maybe this is only weird to me as a recording engineer, but running a cab simulator into a real cabinet seems redundant.
2) The other issue is the mute functionality, which as far as I can tell can only be engaged by accessing the tuner, which requires a press and HOLD of the "Red/Tuner" switch. Just clicking that switch will toggle between regular and "Red" pedal modes, so I can see that getting confusing if the button is pressed and not held long enough. I only hit a mute if I'm changing bases or if something has gone wrong wrong (panic switch), so I like an easily accessible, dedicated mute switch rather than one that shares functionality with a tuner and pedal modes.

Are these shipping yet? Anyone tried them out?

Can someone compare the Tech 21 BBDI with Preset 01. How does the preset compare to the real thing? Having a compressor, BDDI, tuner, Drive and some other effects all built in is real appealing to me.
Did that last night, I've got the V1 BDDI (no mid). I can't get it close enough for my liking. I'm guessing the Elite models it after the V2.

Thank you. Working. Are you guys able to name customized presets? Haven’t figured that out either 😂

That’s asking the colonel for the chicken recipe.

I mean, I assume it's a combination of an EQ contour, sweeping from low-mid scooped, to flat-ish, to upper-mid boost, and feedforward into the gain stage...??? (but I'm just guessing).

If I had a clearer idea of what is going on behind the scenes, and the sequence of the signal flow, I'd expect to get quicker, more predictable results (not that the VT Bass is wildly unpredictable; more that the controls are very sensitive, and the level of interaction between controls can make it slightly counterintuitive).

But yeah, maybe the colonels recipe is a closely guarded secret - even if they aren't resorting to slathering the circuit in black epoxy.

I guess I could ask the same question to Behringer tech support...😂

Picked one up yesterday! First of, it sounds fantastic, which is arguably the most important thing. I pretty much use only analog pedals so there a few things I have to get used to, but working through the manual is helping. There are a few features I'm not that keen on, but I'll reserve these comments until I have a better understanding of it. In the meantime, I'm playing side by side another recently released and well received bass-specific preamp, and tone-wise this certainly holds it's own. I haven't really dug deep into the effects yet... but for those who are curious about it's core features.... the preamp/eq/drive, and compressor all sound great. Unfortunately, they both have features that I wish were on the other pedal. So we'll see how this all shapes out over the next few days. In the meantime, I'm going to keep putting them through their paces.

For those who recently got this pedal, please let me know your thoughts on the following workflows:
1) Can you MUTE and unMUTE easily and consistently (for instance if you are switching instruments)- the instructions made it seem like it might be easy to accidentally switch MODES as the Tuner/Mute and RED mode use the same footswitch.
2) Is it possible to supply an IR/Cab Sim to the XLR output (to the house mixer/PA) and still run a "clean" signal (no IR Cab Sim) to my amp and cabinet on stage?
Thank you.

It's easy to mute. You simply hold the RED/Tuner footswitch to mute the unit then tap the preset footswitch that you are currently in to unmute the pedal. The RED mode is a single tap of the RED/Tuner footswitch and will remain on when using the tuner.

This cannot be done on the Elite. The best thing to do is use the SansAmp Para DI IR since that is the most flat response and will not have the phase and time domain components of a standard impulse response.
