Fellas,

I just got this pedal today from musiciansfriend.com. I have never played thru a pedal before and I am ashamed to admit this but, I have no clue what so ever on how to hook the pedal up.I bought this pedal beacuse of the great reviews it was getting from all of you!

Please don't laugh to much! I am a complete noob at this. What cord goes where and in what sequence? I also bought the DC power supply unit for the pedal.

I have a the following gear:
ESP LTD B404SM
Hartke LH500 Amp
Hartke XL410 cab

The jack that's marked either input/instrument is connected to your bass and the jack that's marked output/amp is connected to your amp. DC power goes to the jack on the front. Did you get instructions with the pedal? Definitely worth reading them cover to cover too.

Bass>Pedal>Amp. It's just like plugging your bass into your amp, only you'll need an extra chord to go from the pedal to the amp.

On the back side of my LH500 there are two input jacks marked "effects send return"


Bass to pedal "in" jack.
"Out" jack of pedal to Amp Effects send or return?

I did get instructions but it didn't specify. To be honest, it was like reading Greek to me. I'm a complete dunderhead when it comes to electronics.

plug your bass into the input on the amp. run a cord from effects loop send to the input on the pedal. run a cord from the out on the pedal to the effects loop return.

Just plug it to the same input you would plug your bass.

Just want to chime and express my love for that pedal.
Bought one the other day after trying out about 6 distortion/overdrive pedals and I love it so very hard

The pedal is pretty clearly labeled with "IN", "OUT", and "D.C."; you really can't mess it up. Instrument cable from your bass to "IN," another instrument cable from "OUT" to the input of your amp (no need to worry about the effects loop). And the power supply cable goes into the "D.C." socket. And then you will find joy!!!

Sad as this is gonna sound Tortilla.......I was still confused. Like I said earlier,I'm brand new to pedals. I was afraid to blow up my cabinet or ruin my brand new amp/cab.

Nothing personal. I'm just a complete dunderhead.

i wouldn't use the loop with the vt. i think it always sounds better going from bass to vt to amp.

Also make sure you start with your volume turned all the way down and bring it up slowly til you reach your desired level.

I just got a VT Bass today, after waiting a damn year to get one finally. It ROCKS!! It's amazing how my P and especially my Jazz sounds thru it, and how sensitive the knobs are - a small adjustment makes a big diff in sound.

Gobs of tone for days, the kind of tone I couldn't afford until now!! (ie: a real SVT and Fliptop) I'm gonna run it thru my power amp and have tons of tone and power.

I know it's not the real thing but it's close enough for me, mang!

oh, gearhead...didn't recognize you over here...what up! vt is amazing. just got the british and it's amazing on bass, too. apparently they're all amazing. the dude at tech 21 said they have some new stuff they're announcing at winter namm, too.
