Oh man, this is getting taken down so fast...but man, I love nothing better than to see Paris Hilton ripped on. Jack looks like hes enjoyin it.

Well... yeah. As long as you don't hurt anyone, who the hell cares? Charge the ones that actually do crash and hurt people with vehicular homicide, and leave the rest alone.

Charging people who are caught drink driving is a way to attempt to prevent people being killed in crashes, best to try and prevent it instead of "trying" to solve a problem after some poor bystander has been dragged along the tarmac.

The point of arresting drunk drivers is to take them off the streets so that they don't crash and hurt people. So people should be allowed to break into other people's houses so long as they don't anything or kill anyone?
Could Paris have expected anything less?? I mean going to see a Silverman right before heading to jail, that's like asking for it.

Good intentions, bad method of achieving it. At this point, you're punishing people for potential crimes, a very dangerous line of reasoning. You might as well prosecute anyone who fires a gun for manslaughter. After all, that could have ricocheted and hit somebody. Whether it did or didn't is irrelevant, this man must go to jail.
Fact: Drunk driving laws don't stop people from driving drunk; common sense does. Regardless of the laws on the books, stupid people are going to do stupid things, so the best course of action is to get people who haven't actually harmed anybody out of our already overcrowded prisons and cut down on the amount of our tax money that is wasted to prosecute a victimless crime.
Solution: Make the penalty stiffer for vehicular manslaughter committed while intoxicated, and leave innocent people alone.
Apples to oranges comparison. You have no right to trespass on someone's property without permission, therefore that's a crime. Drunk driving happens on public property, therefore by simply driving drunk you are infringing on no one's rights to life or property.
Drunk people usually don't think "Oh I'm drunk, I can't drive." They are usually too drunk to know that they can't drive. So no matter what laws there are, and no matter how much it's taught in schools or preached on TV, it can't be stopped.
So we should just make it ok in the first place? Then people won't even bother thinking about designated drivers or not getting drunk in the first place because they have to drive home.
I didn't say it should be made ok, I'm saying there'll always be drunk drivers because when people get drunk, they don't know that they can't drive.
