You know what the really sad and scary thing is, Pacojazz?

That the military and government is hiding things from us, but things far scarier than aliens and large furry humanoids. Things like invading countries to enrich small cabals, jigging the banking systems to benefit the few, creating massive banking crises to make huge money grabs for small groups if insiders, killing and torturing innocents who stand in their way, creating a state of permanent fear to aid controlling populations, suppressing research that would endanger the status qui and powerful lobbies, etc ad infinitum.

Aliens and Sasquatch are a sideshow, a lamentable joke and diversion, no more. I'm sorry there are dupes that play along, though O do not doubt some of them are sincere, maybe even you.

That's it. Next election, I'm voting for Bigfoot.

i agree with your post up to the last paragraph! the military released a document in 1974 that clearly states that BF is real and is to be considered a protected species. if you search "Sasquatch & Military" you will find several eyewitness reports of such a creature. it's pure luck to encounter these phenomenal "beings", but you need to be near a heavily forested area.

BTW,.. here's a story from an alleged professional soldier and prominent businessman. enjoy! :) i can relate to his reaction because one sighting will flip your paradigm forever!!!!

Exactly. I'm not saying that sasquatches, leprechauns, unicorns, or purple six-legged cows don't exist either, but there's no reason to believe they exist. The default position of belief of an extraordinary claim is disbelief until sufficient evidence is presented.

Exactly, and in the case of an extraordinary claim, the evidence must be equally extraordinary.

The last thing in the world I am going to Google is Sasquatch and military. The quagmire of fantastical speculation, wish fulfillment, conspiracy spinning and dubious documentation from unreliable sources is of less interest to me than the psychological needs of the believers and the cultural phenomenon that create such needs.

I've spent a lot of time in forests and I'm very aware of the fears and intensity of sensorial and emotional phenomena they create in us humans. They are the basis of a large part of the myths, origin stories, religions, and other fables that exist all over the world.

Knowing all this, and being aware of the limitations and suggestibility of being human, if I did encounter what I thought was one of 'these creatures,' I would not so quickly jump to the conclusion you have.

Ever wonder why people see similar 'supernatural' or unexplained phenomena depending on their culture and era? Why was it always demons or angels at one time, Sasquatch and aliens another? Think about it.

That's all scientifically explained in the Ancient Aliens TV-series. It's just visits by different groups of ancient astronauts during different eras. ;)

That's all scientically explained in the Ancient Aliens TV-series. It's just visits by different groups of ancient astronauts during different eras. ;)

Of course, forgot about that one!

I remember when that crank Erik von Daniken or whatever came out with that documentary on network TV in the '70s, 'proving' alien visits at various times during our history. A lot of that nonsense has entered the cultural consciousness and is responsible for a whole field of stupidity.

ok, soooo I was always in the "fat chance its real" category, even though I tend to think that the world, and reality in general, is far stranger and weirder than we popularly believe and therefore weird things are possible... but Bigfoot??? come on!

well... I live in WV. Recently in a country town about 40 minutes from here a guy has started a sasquatch research group or whatever you call it. He made it in a local paper and all. He and a hunting buddy claimed to have seen the thing. Which, yeah yeah, sure sure. Well the dude has spent like $20,000 on equipment to set up trip cameras and the like to prove it. So still, Im kinda thinking small investment for lots of media hype if you come up with a blurry picture. Well the interesting thing to me is this. Once he went public about his project something weird happened. He thought he was gonna get made fun of everywhere he went in town and be mocked. Instead, within a month or so something like 40 other locals came to him and said theyd seen it too in the same hunting area but were afraid to tell anyone because of being ridiculed. So now theres this group of 40 country boys all claiming to have seen this thing and all working together to get proof.
I dunno... but that is interesting to me.

Apparently bassists rocking Fender Sublime Fuzz pedals are creating Sasquatch Hot Spots across the country! It must simulated the Squatch mating call...

As stated before:-

When a new specie is discovered that is one thing.

Nobody was aware the specie existed (or they thought it had gone extinct). So to discover something is great.

But aliens:- reportings for hundreds and hundreds of years......still no bonafide alien in the flesh confirmed.

Bigfoot......reportings for hundreds of years..........still no bonafide Bigfoot in the flesh confirmed.

Ditto for "Thunderbirds"........and a host of other "legendary" creatures...........

Ghost-hunting shows.......if it wasn't for strange knocks, K2 meters and EVP's they wouldn't have a show.
Still no solid encounters.........show me a real ghost, not strange shadows, questionable images on a camera screen, or largely indecipherable murky renderings.

Why is the poll closed!? I want to give another to "Yes!"

EDIT: Keep in mind that, the Gorilla wasn't discovered until just over 100 years ago. Think about the enormity of the population of gorillas (or at least, the sheer numbers over a century ago!), and one must wonder what took so long?

You may say the late 1800s is actually "a long time ago," or they had lesser technologies in order to find the Gorilla, etc. But: Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Einstein, et al, were all very much alive when they were discovered. This isn't ancient history. (And was nearly a century after Beethoven's 9 Symphonies were composed.) We weren't primitive peoples at the time of this discovery. (In fact, there were reports of "man-like primates" inhabiting the jungles of Africa, before they were fully discovered and documented. (Paraphrased.) People thought these reports, and the folks to be reporting them, to be mad.

Sound familiar?

@seang15,...

yeah,.. i originally set the poll to continue longer, but the "Mods-that-be" considered perhaps this thread was unworthy. :(
i do appreciate your input, though!
it's amazing also, as stated earlier, that Panda Bears were thought to be a hoax. after much debate, a photo was produced. yet, a concerted effort took over 60yrs before it was formerly discovered. BTW, a Panda has no where near the physical power or intellect of the BF.
