That's a big ass revolver in the middle though. You must save that for when you need to put down an elephant.
Oh jeez. The kid shot a big pig. Not a hog. A pig. A farm pig. Has anyone here raised farm pigs? They get huge. So it easily could have been big, just not that big. In that respect, it was fake. And also, everyone is standing several feet behind it to make it look bigger. The poor kid probably thought "What a hog" when he shot it. They do quite a lot of damage, by the way.

Plenty of wild, feral elephants here in Murrieta. I see a bunch of them now in the soccer field behind my house. Mostly cows though.
It took what, 5 or 6 shots though.
Not good shooting, and no fun for the pig.
Maybe should have spent more time at the range first.

i had a pot bellied pig a few years back, when i was feeding it one time, it bit me, so my dad picked up about a 5' 2x4 and whacke dit on the head it gave that look of "is that all you got?" and dad hit it again, this time putting all hes got into it, (to the face, i might add) and it knocked it over, and ran away.
that kind of a blow would kill a man if you did that to his head.
the 7 shots caused internal bleeding, which is why he ran around for 3 hours, and once he lost too much blood, the kid shot him in the face.
The issue with the multiple shots is more of shot placement. Kid certainly had enough gun. He probably missed the heart on the first shot. The pig will of course, flee. Kid probably just took shots of opportunity during the chase (mebbe the chance to get a clean second shot never presented itself). Finally, the pig goes down from the shock of blood loss and the kid was able to give it the coup d grace.
Hogs have a huge armor plate, too... more than 6" thick of cartilage and gristle. I wouldn't take ANY handgun out after a hog that size. A high powered, heavy, penetrating rifle round would be the ticket... maybe 45-70.
So this animal had to suffer for 3 hours so this fat, redneck kid could get his jollies off?

Hog Kong (1,140#s or about 100# more than Monster Pig), was taken with a Smith and Wesson Model 29 44 mag in Florida in 2004.
The Coursey Hog (1,000#) was taken with a 7mm/08 in Fayetteville, Jaw-Juh in 2007.
The Monster Pig kid was using 350gr Hornady 500SW Mags @ 1900 fps/2805 ft# muzzle, 1439/1610 @ 100yds. (Ouch! my hand!)
A 45-70 Leverrevolution 325 gr rifle round from the same maker does 1875/2537 muzzle and 1575/1789 100 yds.
45 70 has a slight edge downrange but I'll bet that the shot was inside 100 yds.
The only advantage of the rifle here is that it will be easier to shoot well.
Kid probably pulled his shot in anticipation of the recoil and ended up going low and gut shooting the critter.
BTW contrast all these numbers with the "puny" 44 mag and it's "lightweight" 240gr bullet "crawling" along @ 1,500 fps and "farting" out 1,000 ftlbs

Although I respect nature and like animals, I am a bit scared of people who put animals' lives above humans', some taking it as far as trying to stop animals from hunting each other and feeding their pet cats and dogs vegetarian food. That is truly animal cruelty.
