SBMM Stingray Short scale

SBMM = HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
My Short Scale got damaged in the pit, during a show, an accident.
It fell off the stand as the pit was raising and it got hung, cracked the headstock, damaged the wood and destroyed the hipshot D tuning machine.
I sent SBMM the photo of the damage and inquired about a replacement because the theatre will cover the cost of a new one.
SBMM will not sell a replacement one, even with verified damage.
They essentially told me to take hike or find an aftermarket one, which they know don't exist. I just want the bass to be like it was before the mishap and restore it's value. So, right now I have a worthless body with an EMG pickup, active tone control and no neck. I have a guy looking at the damage but it's pretty chewed up and if it can be glued it will look like crap.
I'm going to escalate this to the Ernie Ball Co, since SBMM is run by a company called Praxis. I wonder what EBMM will say.
I guess mentioning posting on bass chat groups and social media got their attention and they've agreed to help me with a new neck for $150.00. That's some progress..

Anyone know where I can find a replacement pickguard? I’ve sent two messages to Precision Guitar on Reverb but they haven’t replied yet, and apart from them replacements for Sterling seem to be thin on the ground. Or conversely, will a replacement for a Music Man short scale fit?

I'm trying to remember clearly because it's been a while, but I don't believe the Music Man pickguard is a perfect fit. I just don't remember if it's the neck area or the pickup area that I had to file/dremel to get it to fit. The screw holes lined up though.

I couldn't fins a direct replacement from anyone, so I made my own from pickguard stock. If you have the tools, it's a very easy design to cut.

I purchased one from them for my SS SBMM (the one on the left) and another for a Mustang. Communication was not great but the products are.

I bought mine directly from SBMM and got pretty fast service on the shipping. They occasionally pop up on Reverb as well.

Mine is black with the tort guard. I’ve only had it three months and already I’m wearing through the “tort” (it must be printed) where my thumb rests on the pickguard. There’s now a bright white patch near the pickup. I do play it almost every day, but this seems really quick. Has this happened to anyone else?

That’s really surprising and disappointing. I would probably go ahead and replace the PG with a genuine “tort” one.
