Does anyone know what Sterling's wiring color code is? I want to replace the stock pickup with a Delano. Here's a digram I pulled off the webs...

Not a 100% guarantee, but this is how it worked for me:
MM green is Delano brown
MM black is Delano white
MM red is Delano green
MM white is Delano yellow

Looking forward to the finished upgrade! Are you going for an EBMM 'ray tone, or something different?
Thanks! I’m not really shooting for anything that specific, just an overall upgrade. I’m not a huge fan of the stock pickup and electronics, and the printed tort is wearing off the stock guard (the new WD one looks much better too). I’ll also be replacing the stock tuners with Schallers.

It’s probably gonna take a while to get to this, but…let the games begin!

I have completed such a conversion and it was definitely worth the effort.
I installed the Delano MC 4 FE/M2 and am extremely satisfied with it. I can connect the front coil, rear coil and parallel in a noiseless manner. I'm not interested in serial, that's not Ray Tone for me. In addition, I installed a noiseless single coil in the jazz neck position. And a mini switch with which I can switch the front, rear, or both pickups in parallel.
After several tries I ended up with the Seymour Duncan Apollo, which fits the Delano very well and is a very good pickup overall.

I understand. I also don't like having a lot of setting options on the instrument. Currently I mainly use 3 settings: neck pickup soloed, Delano neck coil soloed and both in parallel. Everything noiseless. The Apollo neck pickup is a stunner. A split coil, but very clear, very close to a vintage pickup. The full frequency spectrum. Very close to a J-Bass. The neck coil on the Delano is also fantastic. Sounds like a Ray, only more open because it's single coil. Also noiseless. And both together deliver a very full, earthy tone with a lot of pressure.
I can access these three settings using a mini switch. Easy. It couldn't be easier.

Of course the circuit offers a lot more and sometimes I use it too. But rather rarely.
