I recently bought a Schaller bass bridge for my home-built short-scale fretless. I had used a traditional bent-plate Fender-style bridge, but it was just ever so slightly too wide. It worked, but I would occasionally pull the G-string off the side of the fingerboard, so I was looking for a slightly more narrow bridge, and this one is adjustable.
When I got the bridge, one of the saddle height adjustment screws was defective and couldn't be adjusted with the supplied allen wrench. I went to the Schaller website and sent an email describing my problem. I quickly received an email from Germany with an offer to replace the screw. That was two weeks ago, and today I received a package from Germany with 8 screws, an allen wrench, and five guitar picks.
I really appreciate good customer service in this day and age. I also love the look and functionality of the bridge, which allowed me to adjust the string spacing to fit my bass. I just wanted to acknowledge a company that stands behind their products and takes customer service seriously. Thanks, Schaller!
