Schecter Custom 5-string Noob

Why noob?
Just got back into playing bass after an 8 year absence...
found out my fingers forgot everything...anyway...
This is what I get for having Twins...brain shuffles off
everything that isn't kid-oriented...lol

Picked up a Schecter Custom 5-string because the price
was right, at $80, figured it'd be good to get back into.
It's got a lot of minor scratches & dents, but sounds ok.

But it's frickin ugly, all the hardware is corroded,
and as I look online there are practically NO OPTIONS
for custom tuners...you're stuck with either Clubs or T-Wings...
and both, IMHO, kinda suck in looks. Found some skulls,
but that ain't quite doing it for me either...
was hoping for some nice Ace of Spade tuners,
but evidently the company that made my last set is
long gone...

So...anyone know where one can find some good looking tuners??

Heck, you would think that with all the jokers out there making
all sorts of wacky wild metal parts for guns, there would be
at least two or three guys turning out some wild-looking tuner ends
if for no other reason than nobody is doing it and they could
make a serious fortune. Even someone cutting Clubs into
Ace of Spades tips could make a bundle...

Is this truly what we are stuck with??

Your alternative, is to have a custom set made. A metal fab shop could whip up just about anything, especially if it's flat sheet like the clover style open gear tuners. Those actually seat in a slot, and certain brands can be removed easily.

I kinda slacked off on this, had other things on the fire, so to speak

But Here they are! All post-cleaning pics...scrubbed the bleep out of it!!
Overall, after cleanup, not too horrible...it'd pass muster at 10 feet...but not any closer

A few visible scratches & scratch/dents...not too horrible.

Tuners are flaking paint off like crazy...makes my OCD go bananas...

A quick-change 9v battery slot is needed on these things...one will end up being installed before long!

So basically, new tuners, new knobs, and a new bridge are needed.
Found a set of 4 custom knobs I like, so that's in the works.
Now I need to figure out what the best bridge upgrade is...is there a Brass option??

The Tuner thing is requiring a lot of thought...something to match the uniqueness of the
planned knobs would be in order...it may well come down to whatever I can imagine
and make work...at least I know a few good metalworkers locally
