Schecter Diamond P 5 (NBD)

Thanks stud...
Glad you dig the P 5...I find that tend to play them differently then I do the Valenti.

Are you experiencing the same with your Valenti?

Oh yea. My Valenti and P5 are very different. I try to be myself on them no matter what though but I do notice small things. On the Valenti I tend to flavor the bridge pickup more and play over it or near the bridge. The P5 is all about the P pickup. I find myself soloing it and using the bridge to add to it and playing over the P.

How do you find you play them differently?

As far as the weight thing..... I LOVED the sound of mine, but the day after a gig I felt like I had been beaten with chains.... but the tone.... THE POWER AND THE GLORY !!!!

Hi TC

Some people pay good money for that feeling :hiding::p

This is true...

Well for me its about how the neck profile is different and that Schecter has more natural lower mids then my Valenti so I tend to play slightly more space in my playing, where the Valenti I might play if some spattered ink all over the chart.

Also Tone wise one guy I'm playing with is using a very big sounding 335 with more of that vintage tone. So I tend to use the Schecter for that. The Valenti for something where I need to cut or a busy funk thing.

Well I gigged my DP5 for 2 solid sets with the Labellas and I'm not sure if these are the string for me or not. They were quite boomy compared to my SR5 with EBMM Group IV flats.

I might have to mess with the EQ on my amp, but honestly if I need to do that, then maybe I need a flat with a little more highs. Any suggestions? Remember they need to fit 35 scale.

I get that completely! I'm trying to figure out if I wanna go nickel round (and let them die a good bit) or flats on the bass.

This confirms what i've been reading. Labella flats seem to be a lot of thump/thud with some wierd trebly highs.

I would go with TI's or Chromes.

Did you run the Labella thru body or bridge only?

Great gig pics man!

How are you feeling about the Labella Flats now?

I normally love heavier basses but my bass is a TANK! haha

I have 2 gigs this coming weekend, so I will have to see about the Labellas. The one gig I played was in a weird room, and I was getting some SERIOUS bass. Almost TOO much, so I will keep my ears open this coming weekend.

My bass weighs about 10.5 pounds, so it is heavy, but seems to balance very well, so using it for 3 one hour sets doesn't seem to be a big deal for me.
