Schecter Diamond P 5 (NBD)

Lol, that's a great line. :D

I do agree this bass has a big feel to it...you're not alone! I just happen to like that. :)

How do those Carvin (labella) compare to the D'addario? Especially B string wise?

I'm thinking about going stainless on another bass. Any thoughts?

You know I'm not sure that I can really tell a major difference.
So the jury is out...Maybe just maybe the La Bella might be a ever so slightly touch brighter the D'Addarios but nothing major.

I know the tappered B is easier to deal with when putting them on :hiding: but thats not saying to much.

I really would like to try a slim B something like a 120. I not looking for thunder of the gods...Just an extension of the E really.

I have not the biggest stainless guy...Then tend to feel stiffer to me.

I have seriously been thinking about a .120 B as well!

According to physics, not. But the thing is, the B string can sometimes be much louder than the rest so getting a thinner one could solve this issue if not solved in some other way. A thinner string could make note definition go, though :/

My interest is for cleaner tone on an aggressive attack.
Not sure if its as much of an issue with a 35" scale (which adds a touch of clarity).

Maybe I just need to lower the pickup under the B string?
I hear you gents...

I tried some experiments with when known local luither / repair fellow. I can only lower so far before it starts affecting certain aspects.

The bad thing about 5 string P basses is that you can't adjust everything well. On a 4 string P, you have absolute control over output and pickup position for each string, on a 5 string, there's one three string coil which makes it impossible to adjust everything evenly. Lowering the pickup below B might make the E too thin :/

I'm secure enough with my manhood to admit that

DUDE, YOU LOOK COOL IN THAT PHOTO.

I'm an old fart. Gonna go cry in the corner now, all ugly and old...

:bawl:

Thanks Stud, I appreciate that...I'm no kid myself though (I try to pretend though LOL)

My first encounter with the Schecter Diamond P was pretty good.

It was the dark blue one and despite being at GC it was set up pretty well. Action was a tad higher than what I prefer but not unreasonable.

The first thing I noticed was that it was friggin heavy. It was also pretty well put together, and the fretboard played well without any sharp edges. The electronics configuration was great but there was something missing. Nothing a pickup swap couldn't fix.

A nice bass in any case. I already have a bass to cover what this one does otherwise it might be on my radar.

Anyone ever told you that you look like AceYoung from American Idol?

Not him actually...Thanks,
I had to look him up actually (didn't know the name).

On heaviness...
I highly suggest the Mono Betty Strap if anyone finds the Diamond 5P heavy. I do but don't mind it so much...but the Mono helps a lot.

Lot's of activity today! :)

Killer pic Tony.

Played the P5 for a bit tonight. Such a killer bass!

Thanks stud...
Glad you dig the P 5...I find that tend to play them differently then I do the Valenti.

Are you experiencing the same with your Valenti?
