Intersting. Mine are both the stock BTS blends for the 35HZ passive pickups. (It's the stock installation on both of my Schecters.) I wonder if the behavior is different on their other systems.

Found a sale on the purpleburst Studio 5 model, and with super-affordable 48-month financing, I just couldn't resist getting a brother for my oceanburst one. Already have Ultralite tuners, knobs, and a Schaller bridge ready to go, via my shelf of spare parts. Should be arriving this week!

I have an SLS Evil Twin 4 and am interested in the 5-string SLS (in normal or Evil Twin form). It's clear that Schecter works hard to keep the reach to the lowest frets to a minimum; the bridge looks to be about 1/4 inch or 6 mm closer to the end of the body on the 35-inch 5-string model. It also looks like the body is the the same length on the two models, which would make the reach to the nut about 3/4 inch or 19 mm farther away on the 5-string.
Can anyone with both 4- and 5-string basses with this C shape (SLS, Apocalypse, GT, Hellraiser, Omen, etc) confirm that the bodies are the same size? How does the reach compare between the two? Do you notice the extra scale length on the 5-string?

I have the Omen Elite 5 35" scale. To me, it plays like a 34' scale, or shorter. I have short arms and small hands and I have no issue reaching the lower frets. I think the shape of the body and how it hangs moves the bass into a position that makes the lower frets easier to reach.

My second Studio 5...like my other one, it got new tuners, bridge, and knobs. These are mucho basses for the money.

Decided to send my purple Studio 5 back. The neck had too much uncorrectable relief on the treble side, and the preamp was hissy (especially with the treble boosted. My blue one has a straight neck and is dead-quiet. So, they're replacing it with a brand-new one, when they arrive this/next month. Bear in mind that the one getting returned was a floor model in a Guitar Center, bought through MF, so it was just over $800. MF agreed to get a factory-fresh one to me for the same price, so props to them for good service.
Now, I just have to put the stock parts back on.

Really appreciate this thread and all the Schecter love. Without this site, I probably would have never considered the brand. When I was looking for a 5 string, I was impressed by all of the positive comments on here about the Stiletto. That helped convince me to pick up a Studio 5. Love the look and the feel of the neck. Plays like a dream. Was recently browsing Reverb and came across a Blackjack ATX C-5. Couldn't find a lot of info on it but decided to take a chance and am glad I did. It's beautiful and plays as well as the Stiletto (at least as far as I can tell). Also really digging the tones I can get from the Seymour Duncan pickups and pre-amp. Love these basses.

I could kick my self in the rear for trading off my Stilleto Studio 4. The Omen Elite 5 is a great bass but it just isn't what I was looking for.
Anyone have any experience with the Stiletto Exotic? (Not to be confused with the Customs, which they look similar to at a glance). They are apparently kinda rare, only made in 2005 i believe. I bought one used and I'm very happy with it. I'm just curious what others think of them and how they stack up against the rest of the Stiletto series. I've been able to find the instrument specs, but haven't really seen any reviews. Thanks
