Switched up some black and cosmo black tuner hardware....

As I was familiarizing myself with the controls on my new SLS Evil Twin 4, I found that the knob closest to the neck, the treble I believe, doesn't appear to do anything. The bass and volume knobs clearly work, so the preamp is getting power. I opened the cavity, and the pot in question appears to be wired well; the connections on the pot itself aren't loose. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Were you able to sort this out? The controls are not straight forward and I had the rely on Rodney McG to figure out the pre on my elite.

I can't remember the last time that I relied on an amp and cab at shows...maybe mid-2015? My amp crapped out on me, and I said enough. From that point, it's been in-ears and a pedalboard. Technology can rule sometimes.

That, and my Stiletto kicks booty.

I think the controls on the Evil Twin are different. Neck to bridge for me goes Treble, Bass, Volume+toggle, blend.

Got a Studio-4 in Trans Purple. It appears I'm part of the club now. It's not normally the style of bass I'd get, but I fell in love with it when I played it in the store. Got it for a great price too.

Picked up a trans green Studio 5. Had one hz and one active pup. 3 9v batteries....so I switched them out for Nordstrand big splits. Love it.

Hey guys! It’s been literally years since I don’t post here!!! I stopped playing for about 7-8 years and recently got back at it. I found a schecter Damien 5 for $120 in good condition and couldn’t hold myself lol. I’m currently running it through a Behringer V-Tone DI and a Tech 21 Spectra Comp compressor out of a bugera head and 1*15 and a Laney 4*10... the sound is incredible! Buuut I want more! Lol been thinking about upgrading the pickups to Aguilar and the onboard Preamp to Darkglass Tone Capsule... anyone have used any of them before???

after a couple of years I got into modifying it and the results are amazing!

I put in a set of LeCompte pickups and a darkglass preamp

I just got my first Schecter, a Stiletto Extreme 5, a few weeks ago. This purple model is next on my list. Might have to trade a few of my P's off to get it.

Honestly, I love it. It's got a great modern tone. String spacing is a little tight for my mits, but I'm adjusting. The only I'd change is I would prefer flamed maple instead of quilted.

Glad to hear it. I tried one in a local shop (just before coronavirus), and it was one of the most comfortable basses I've played.

Dedicating this post to EdBo as he gave me some advice on some work and other upgrades I made to this bass.

I received this in a trade and it wasn’t in great shape. The bridge pieces were worn and corroded with some set screws frozen. Fretboard was dry and dirty. The HZ pickups just weren’t doing it for me either. Over the past 6 months or so I’ve replaced the bridge pieces, cleaned up the neck with some of that awesome Dunlop 65 lemon oil and just last night added in an EMG 40CS in the neck position and an EMG 40DC in the bridge position. Two volumes, Two tones, simple. EdBo, this is for you. Godspeed.

Since I've posted this I recently swapped out the CS pickup for another DC. I also just added in the BTS 2 band EQ. I'm happy with the results. I'm still playing around with the DIP switches but right now I find OFF/OFF to be the most musical for the treble control. That was also nice of EMG to include 4 of their knobs as well as I've been meaning to replace the stock. Thinking about swapping out the two volume controls for a Master and Blend to finish off this project.

The EMG blend control is more of a toggle switch as it pretty well goes instantly all the way to one pickup or the other as soon as you dial away from the center detent. I'm actually thinking of going the other direction.

Not on mine. The blend is quite linear. It isn't an on/off thing at all. Honestly I'd only use a blend on an active system.
