I love the fishmans in mine. It's probably honestly one of the few reasons I bought the Evil Twin.

Agree and actually going to replace my hellraiser extreme basses emg pickups with fishman pickups.

I just gotta say I freakin' love my Stiletto Custom! Once I set it the neck does not move at all, even going from extreme temps and humidity to another. I can't say the same for my Carvin 5 string where the neck changes if I blow on it.

So you didn't like the Fishmans either? I heard them on a Cort bass and thought they sounded quite sterile. Then I heard them again on a Spector Dimension and thought the same thing.

So I actually like the Fishmans for what they do.
I just really like EMG CS build pickups and have been working with them.

My favorite pickup that I don’t run in series is EMG.

Considering Mike Inez was the reason behind Fishman Fluence, if you don't like a hi-fi EMG bite, they're probably not your bag. Too many label hi-fi as sterile. That makes no sense to me. It's a clean tone, and not to mention, Vic Wooten uses EMG pickups (blooming, beautiful tone). Spend enough time with most basses, and you should be able to get the tones you need. Heck, I run full EMG on my Studios, and I get woody, Motown-ish thump by simply using my thumb with palm-muting.

Actually I love EMG and Aguilar pickups. Most of my basses have some type of EMG pickups and preamps. But the Fishman Fluence I have heard really didn't do it for me. There was just something in the tone that wasn't right for me. EMG's, though, have been my sound for the last 23 years.

I heard them on a Cort A4 Ultra Ash Bass and I felt pretty underwhelmed. Then I heard them again on a Spector Dimension while comparing it to a Spector NS Ethos and the Ethos just nailed it for me, although again I do like Aguilar pickups which the Ethos does come with.

I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who will like the Fishman Fluence pickups, but I'm not one of them yet. Maybe on a certain bass with a certain preamp that I just haven't heard yet?

completely sold except the finish - as far from my style as you can get

the build quality and Fluence are mind boggling.

i've gone back to the store twice to check it out - blew me away each time.

one more time tomorrow - might be fun to show up at jazz gigs with this

This was delivered this past Tuesday. REVERB had a Labor Day Sale with 15% off. Price was already lowered by seller. Then lowered again in an offer specifically to me and then the sale discount kicked in. Price was just too good to pass up. More than mint condition. Seller shipped it double boxed with original Schecter box inside with all the original styrofoam and bubble wrap, tags and tools. Sometimes it pays to wait.

First Semi-hollow (any hollow) that I had with 2-band preamp (bass & treble). All my other hollow/semi-hollow basses are passive with just Tone control though some do have split coil switches for the humbuckers (Dillion)or a vari-a-tone control (Epiphone) .

Yes, I do. But not crazy about blend control. I’d rather have Vol Vol Treb Bass than Vol Blend Treb Bass. Just a preference. Not a big deal.
