Y'all seen what's in the class-ads here right now? 80's Custom Shop Tele bass...this thing is so damn COOL! Wish I had the money for it.
Gearhounds is featuring a few of the new 2012 Schecter models. Hellraiser 5, a few of the Omens and such. Has the prices as well. (None of the new C4's yet though)

Just popping in with a question. Anyone else have extremely thin and weak finishes on the Stiletto Extreme 4? Mine is starting to chip off on the back in a couple places and it's just over 2.5 years old... And these aren't very small chips either... And me being dumb and curious picked at one a little bit to see how easily it would chip and it requires very little work. It's like the poly is suddenly done trying to stick to the bass.
Also noticed that that the finish is sinking into the grain and one of the basswood pieces on the back shrank quite a bit, bringing some finish with it and leaving a noticeable difference in height between pieces. I don't think that the spring temp and humidity change is gonna be very kind to my baby....
I'll get some pics in a sec and post them.
EDIT:
In the last pic you can kinda tell that the darker piece shrank without the other two. Look at the reflection of the piece of wood and how it shifts when passing over the line between the darker and lighter pieces.

Mines an '09. I called Schecter a while back about the shrinking and unevenness, and they don't cover finishes. So I'm just gonna leave it until its too ugly for me to put up with. Then refinish it. Sad though, because it's a really beautiful bass....
At least the stripping will be easy when that time rolls around
I've got a couple Schecter basses. Ones a 2000 Robert DeLeo Signature Model T in the less common 3 tone sunburst with maple fretboard. The other is a 2010 Omen Extreme 4 in vintage sunburst. Here's a pic, the third bass in the pic is a Squier II Precision Bass. I'm new here, but can I have a number?

Another member here, enigma0z (I think) just bought one and he had really good things to say about it.
I guess that'll make me 301... Stiletto Elite-5. Had it for 2 years and I'm really happy with it.
