Don't be. I was talking to Jorg about stuff and mentioned the stuff in this thread about the miswirings, and he said this:

Pretty typically top shelf support from Jorg, IMHO.

Suggest anyone with questions about wiring email/call Jorg. He'll take care of you (as usual).

I was one of those 310212 people with problems. To say Jorg took care of me and hooked me up would be a huge understatement. Give him a chance and he'll make it right, rest assured. Some things like this are to be expected with a new fledgeling company. Rmember it's not the problems that are as important, as how they're dealt with. beside loving the tone, I'm a JORG fan for life

so im going to get a Large size scho if i can sell my 1212.
21012 or 410.....

:crying:
I'll give you $100 for it shipped. ;)

P.S. I'm not a jerk, I'm just broke... ok, yeah, I'm a jerk, too... :D

Seriously, tho, if I could find a really hot deal on one of these (unfortunately, I am really poor right now), I really do want one... just not enough funds to go after the 21012L I really want. :)

I'd trade my 3101212 for the mtd :)

I think I replied similarly before in this thread...

Is there a good reason why 3 8 ohm 10s couldn't be in parallel for 2.6 ohms in series with two 4 ohm 12s in parallel giving you just about 4 ohms with each group of drivers getting just about the same power?

Hmm, that might not be a bad idea. That would give you 4.6 ohms total, and each 10 would get just a smidgen less power than each 12. (I think it works out to 21.7% per twelve and 18.8% per ten).

You'd get a tiny bit less total current out of the amp but probably
not enough to notice or care.

For those that have been following the wiring problems in the 310212s on this thread, I have been in contact with Jorg, and it appears that this problem was exclusive to only 3 cabs, and I will have mine sorted out by the end of the day hopefully, thanx to Jorg's great customer care.

Any people interested in ordering a 310212 need not worry themselves about getting a cab with incorrect wiring.

OK after trying to keep up reading this thread. I'm needing a new cab and I'm trying to choose between the El Whappo or 310212 ? I am not able to play either cab so I'm taking your input thanks.
If you do a search (assuming you haven't already), you'll find posts for each of those cabs, but I can't remember someone directly comparing the two (direct A/B). Sounds like what you need.

The El Whappo will sound more polite (and probably flatter freq. resp.), while the 310212 will sound more aggressive (should cut through better in a live band setting).
Definitely different tones between the two.

can i ask anyone here what "aggresive mids" sounds like or means.
i know its a bit of a stupid question but i see it pop up every now and then and its used to define the 1210 sound quite a bit but i cant really get my head round what it means
Thanks (by the way i have a 1210 but not had chance to turn it up yet)

It's not a stupid question at all... it's hard to talk about tone... everyone uses similar words but they can mean very different things.

The Schroe 1210 does have what I would describe as aggressive mids..... to me, that's a noticable increase in volume in the frequencies between 250 and 500hz... the 'punch' area versus the 'big bottom area' below 150 hz, or the 'upper mid articulation' area above 800 hz or so.

The El Whappo has much more big bottom to my ear... while the Schroeder 1210 (and from what I understand, the 410) excel in that mi punch area. Of course, with a good amp and EQ, you can reshape most cabs to sound the way you want. However, I'm a big fan of finding a cab that inherently matches the 'sound in your head'.

Hope that helps.

K

PS I would assume the 21012 and the 310212 would have more of the big bottom and less pronounced mid punch vs. the 1210 and 410. I find that's the case comparing my 1212 to my 1210. I ordered a 21012 Light, and will post a review when it arrives. I assume I'm one of the first in line for those, so I should be receiving it within a month or so.

More of a "in your face" type of bump in the frequency response at one or more points.

I'd probably contradict that statement with my experience with the 3101212. While I've not actually tried any of the others, I can say without doubt that it has tons of mid punch, moreso than any other cab I've used. It is capable of big bottom but it isn't a default characteristic. Maybe it's the extra 10 or 2 compared to the others that helps.

I actually run mine mostly for the low mid punch than the fat lows, cutting 30hz significantly.
