Living in Denver is kind of a problem since most small companies like schroeder are only on the east and west coasts. I just found a dealer in denver for schroeder cabinets.

Whoa! Just finished reading the whole damn thread. I'm going to be ordering a cab next week. Still have not decided which one though. Having some serious back problems so will probably go with the 1210 or maybe a pair of 'em.
I was finally able to use my 1210 with my Mesa Walkabout at a decent volume. It sounded amazing, and the rest of my band counldn't believe so much sound was coming out of that tiny little box.
There was a problem with the 10" woofer when I first got the cab, but Jorg got the replacement out to me in 2 days. That's pretty good Customer Service, don't ya think?
One thing I noticed about the cab was how much the 12" speaker was moving. Never even approached farting out, but I was a bit surprised at how much the speaker was dancing.

I've been really happy running my 1210 on end with the angled 12 up and my 112 on top with the speaker angled at the drummer.
Myself, the drummer and everyone on stage seem to hear the bass much better with this rig without having to run it super loud. Last gig we had a really fine studio & touring guitarist join us and set up on the other side of the stage with the drummer and percussionist & keyboard between us, and he said he felt like there was a perfect bass monitor behind him.
These things really disperse the sound nicely.

Well, at least I was able to identify that it was a speaker that's angled up. Your right, though, it's the 10.

When I got my EA 210's I was very skeptical 2 10's could handle much bottom end. I was afraid of overexcursion, the speakers were really dancing around. I ended up using a subsonic filter, it cut that way down, didn't affect the sound. If your amp doesn't have a sub filter, F-Mods makes some, create a patch cable with them and you're all set to go. I got the 20Hz highpass.
I'm guessing a lot of that cone dancing is "reproducing" string handling, palm bumping the strings, etc, stuff that's subsonic, a waste of amp power and if below the tuning freq of the speaker ports, could be highly dangerous to the cab. I thought at some freqs the backpressure exaggerates the cone movement instead of resisting it, right? Somewhere below a certain freq related to port tuning?
I was wrong about the EA's, they can take it, but I though the subsonic filter was a good idea and kept it in my rig. you may not need it to protect the spkrs either, but I think its worthwhile to maximize useful output of the amp by cutting out the wasted freqs.

I'm using a Schroeder 1210 with a non-standard set of speakers (Silenium-750 watt total capacity) I understand Jorg was prototyping....an Acoustic Image Focus 600 watt head, a DOD 31 band eq, and a Mike Lull M5V 5 string bass. I play almost exclusively finger style but throw in a very small amount of slapping and popping....I don't need to change any tone controls to accomodate different techniques or styles of music.
Every gig has been in a different sized and sounding venue with 3 different bands. What I can say is that there's plenty of lows, cut through but not crappy sounding mids, and a really nice high end, plenty of volume. The only adjustment I've had to make tonewise venue to venue was the bass boost/cut on the Focus and the treble boost/passive tone control on the Lull depending on the room. I also had to up the volume slightly in the "dead-acoustically really nice to play in, absorbant" room. But that's all...It has really simplified things for me in addition to making me sound crisper tighter, cleaner, and BETTER than I did just 4 weeks ago with other really nice cabinets which I've since sold.
The Schroeder 1210 is by far the best sounding single cabinet solution I've ever used, Bar none...also is not "expensive" relatively speaking, is not heavy relatively speaking, and allows me plenty of hearable stage volume without rumbling and bleeding through our various PA system options. It's really good sounding for blues, disco, Motown, top 40, metal, classic rock, ballads, 60's, 70's...you name it. Brian Barrett suggested the 1210 over the 1212 for my needs based on matching the versatility and flexibility of this cabinet's tone to the fact I'm in four different bands all playing different material, and that the tone of the 1212 which may have a bit more ooomph to it, but may not punch out quite as much.
The 1210 / AI Focus combo with the added EQ can get me anything and everything I need in a compact and easily mobile package.....for a change!!!

Continuing this slightly off-topic discussion of sub-sonic filters, I found the suggested use of such a filter fascinating and worth pursuing, particularly for use with my string bass that has a Schertler StatB pickup requiring a power source/pre-amp supplied with it. When I went to the Schertler web site to get the specs of the pickup and pre-amp, Schertler indicates that their pre-amp has a built-in sub-sonic filter already in place, although they don't give any spec's as to its workings. Perhaps this is part of the reason this pickup sounds so good--through my Schroeder 1212 just to bring this back on topic. I'm going to try putting the pre-amp in line with my bass guitars to see if I can hear any improvement as well.

I get to play out my 1210 for the 2nd time tomorrow.
We're doing a Relay for Life show at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock (TX), and I can't wait to bust out my "little cab"- as the last people who saw it at our shows (then came up and said I needed to turn down because it was rattling this guy's balls all the way in the back of the club) and rock the hell outta all 'dem disbelievers.
I can't wait to get my pre/power amp setup, and see what it sounds like with a much better power section going through it (as opposed to my SVT-III Pro, which isn't bad-but hardly a Demeter/Crown or QSC setup).
THEN- after I get a new bass (Spector nS5 or Modulus Q5 or Flea 5), I'll get to add my 1212!!
