It's a typo. It should say 'scientologists don't understand how a bicycle works'.

It's called a "track stand". 40 pounds and 15 years ago I used to be pretty good at it.

You're probably still good at it. Once you understand how it works, and have the feeling for that kind of balance, it stays with you.

I ride VERY rarely, am 8 years and 40+lbs over race weight, and can still track-stand (on a freewheel, not a fixie) longer than any of the traffic lights in my part of the world.
