One requirement for my new genrefication system is that the word "core" shall not be present on the end of any genre titles, and those caught doing so will be sacked and then fed to bears.
HH is screamo with emo tendencies, but there ARE screams.

I feel the same, also i think Post should not be a prefix, post punk= somehting that sounds nothing at all like punk with kids in sweaters playing it, post hardcore also sounds nothing like hardcore and has kids in sweaters playing it

a genre that is post- anything is when bands take elements of a genre but then move on.
nobody plays real hardcore any more, they've moved on..it's post-hardcore. same as post-rock, post-punk.
ahbapbap... wait a minute.
ive never worn a sweater in my life.
there weren't screams, they were growls, and there aren't screams any more.
screaming is screaming. literally. screamo has tearing your throat out screaming.
hardcore, metal core, deathcore, has very very little actually screaming.
death/hard/core has "screaming", but it's all really vocal inflection and isn't loud at all. a true screamer is wailing into the mic.
allow me to rephrase, has Mostly kids in sweaters playing it
you really want to debate what is and is not screaming? you've got a LOT of time on your hands. screams are clearly an umbrella term. any extreme, harsh vocal is a scream.
You guys can bag on this genre as much as you want. It's kids getting involved in music
wait wait wait.
we have to keep a clear image of what screamo is here.
senses fail, hawthorne heights, silverstein.. varying types of screamo band.
killswitch engage, shadows fall, underoath, (older) avenged sevenfold... varying types of metalcore.
despised icon, cradle of filth, job for a cowboy... varying types of death metal
and as long as we're on the same page.. screamo DOES suck pretty hard. its just soft music with feigned aggression.
hardcore is pretty well dead. there are other genres masquerading as hardcore.. but its always actually something else that was once derived from hardcore.

.i agree
To me, when I think Screamo I think The Locust, Thursday, and Alesna. Hawthorne Heights, Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance, The Used, and Taking Back Sunday are all "third wave" emo.
so.. when introduced screaming into emo.. its not screamo? its something entirely different. thats a little ridiculous. they put the 2 terms together for a reason. i wasnt necessarily there at the time, and i certainly dont know all the underground stuff, but again, im using bands that everyone knows for the sake of making this make sense to everyone.
