Seattle hang out?

Yeah, thanks to all who drove out...especially Mal, Charlie, and Jerry who made the trek up from Portland and Hood River.
Lots of cool gear was present, and the theme for this little bar was definitely that small amps ruled. I'm glad I left my Mesa out in the truck. Heck yeah, Spencer's Groove Regulator (envelope filter) was the best sounding and tracking unit I've ever heard.
It was nice to finally put some more faces to names, and thanks Greg for organizing it.

I just got home...it seemed like it took longer to get home than driving up. :hmm: But it was worth it. What a great hang!

It was really good to see Mike (Caca de Kick) and Greg (Lokire). Plus anytime with Mal and Charlie is a blast. Plus it was good to finally meet some people from the Seattle area. Very nice folks up there and some really sweet gear. Almost too much gear! I wish that I could have spent more time with a few of the basses that were there. And Scott thank you for bringing your NV215. It sounded scary good with that Shuttle and my stingray. I can't begin to imagine what it would sound like with my db750.

I took a bunch of pix but I will go through them tomorrow and post what looks good.

Greg, thank you so much for putting this on. I think that it worked out great. I hope that you had as much fun as I did.

Is that a GK MB-2 on top of the Epifini cab?
How does it sound? Better than the Little Mark?

I didn't hear that comparison but - the GK sounded good through the EPi 1x12, my EA Micro did too so I'm guessing that the LM would have sounded nice there too ...

The GK left me scratching my head and wondering if I need two micro amps and no rackable - definately a head scratcher for me. The little guy sounds like a GK to me ...

Yep! What he said

Spencer! - thatnks for dragging the Epi UL112 along - As it happended I got to try my micro through Brad's and that cab is definately out front in my current cab search. Thanks to all. You guys have a great nucleus up there and now that you have a venue and maybe another potential venue - keep that ball rolling!

+1

And thanks to everyone else who showed up too. Good times.

Jerry, extra thanks for bringing two killer fretless fours along for me to check out. That Conklin was a very nice surprise. The Rob Allen I've seen and played before, so I avoided fondling it too much lest I end up contributing to the world economic crash.

Wow that was a sensory overload for me.

I got there late. However, still got to talk to a few people.

Charlie and Mal, it was cool to finally meet.

Also, Greg(?) with the amazing Starfire and a few others whose names I can't remember.

That Warmoth bass was really nice. Never got to plug it in, but it was set up perfect and looked great with the tinted neck.

I'll get there earlier next time.

Wow that was a sensory overload for me.

No kidding. I've been to a bunch of these things now and I always wake up the next day wondering why I didn't try ___ and ___ and ___. And I always walk away amazed at how good just about everything and everybody sounds.

Nice talking to you too Rene.

Sensory overload - as always.

Greg's Stafire get's the most-mojo award at every one of these. For me Jerry's Rob Allen win's the "most likely to empty Mal's wallet one day" award - as always.

Good to meet you at last. Next time a longer hang for sure.

Rene, it was great to finally be able to put a face to a name!

...and I've left my filter days behind me, I have really, truly and I don't covet Spencer's 3leaf, reallly ... crap - I need a 12 step filter program ...
