Selling it to some one who will play it, no bass deserves to sit in a closet for 30 years
shame you didn't get rid of it sooner. Set it up and sell it.

… which is sort of how I process posts that advise ‘but, it can sound just the the P bass that you prefer.’ This might be compelling if I didn’t have like 6 P basses. One good PB is as good as another...
I seriously regret trading my natural L-1000 some years ago. That was a killer bass. It's a white G&L L-1000 with a rosewood board.
). The fact that you'll actually get money back from dispensing with it is a bonus. This one makes me smile because I bought the G&L to replace a '79 Precision that had been stolen -- and thank goodness, it was awful -- but now that P would probably demand like $3k.I've got a 76 P I bought in the 80s I never play anymore, but can't bear to part with. The only one that has never been considered for sale is my Squire Jazz that my stepson gave me. That is far too meaningful in a sentimental way.
I'm at the point now where I hope and plan to keep everything and let my kids sell it when I kick. What's the point of having a house to yourself if you can't keep cool stuff in it?
I still have a Ric 4001 I bought brand new in '80. My cremated ashes will be dumped inside the case, alongside it. My eternal life will consist of proving it not only brought the thunder, but also lightning, earthquakes and little green men from Mars.
Awesome looking bass! I would keep it over a new bass especially if I had that kind of history with it.For those who asked ...
