Dario Diedda (Italy) on a '60s Fender Coronado II. (Replacement wooden bridge & La Bella flats). Absolutely smoking jazz player, plenty of great YouTube clips, this is my favourite & convinced me to buy mine.

Best semi-hollow bass for the money? Closest thing i have is a Danelectro Hodad bass, not quite semi hollow but has all the tonal qualities imo.. yet im looking to get another semi hollow or hollow body pretty soon.
It looks like it has been played a lot!Link Removed
Framus Jan Akkerman bass... Wich is called Nashville. And sold after Framus was bankrupt. It probably was a prototype. It has a Michael Dieck modification. A passive boost.
Glen Cornick said he only used the Gibson EB-2 once to record Witch's Promise and never used one again.Semi hollow body basses were very common during the 60's, half the mid sixties British invasion bands used one kind or other. Epiphone Rivolis and Gibson EB-2's were very common.
Andy Frasier used a Gibson EB-3 (a solid body), Chas Chandler used both Epi Rivolis and Gibson EB-2's, Cornick used a Gibson EB-2 I think along with many other Gibsons. But many other players used them. Believe it or not Hofners weren't all that common back then.
Hey any of you ever played a semi hollow bass through fuzz and or overdrive?. How is the sound and the sustain when tuned to C?. Im thinking of getting a semi hollow for messing around with but if it produced decent Doom tones I will use it with my band. Im asking here because I dont know if the music shop will put up with me detuning their semi hollow to C and asking for their fuzz and overdrive pedals. In the semi hollow bass world that may be blasphemy.
What kind of semi hollowbass are you thinking about getting?
In the semi hollow bass world anything goes.
