I feel bad for him! I have Sarcoidosis and it screws with me on a regular basis. It's an autoimmune disease as well. It has created a neuropathy in my feet and in my arms somewhat. Discouraging yes but, you just have to keep moving! I wish him success!!

I was lucky enough to catch the Stray Cats tour last summer. First and only time I've seen him after loving just about everything he's ever recorded. Glad I saw him when I did. He seemed to still be at peak powers. Hope he can come back.

My band opened for The Stray Cats back in the 90's. Probably the best live 3 pc band I ever heard. They put on a great show and while I didn't get to spend much time w/ Brian Seltzer or Slim Jim Phantom, Lee Rocker could not have been nicer or more generous w/ his time.

Very sorry to read about this. Was just watching the original video for "Stray Cat Strut" night before last.
Such an incredible musician and performer. Hope they get a handle on it and that he can begin playing again soon.

Someone close to me was diagnosed with GBS last month, autoimmune issues are bizarre and terrible - hopefully Brian has one of the kinds where full recovery is expected and fully recovers!

Huge setzer fan growing up. Bought a gretsch 6119 because of him.

Stray Cat Strut is still a go to jam for me. I remember playing it at guitar center note for note at age 12 and getting lots of compliments from the dudes behind the counter. I felt so cool.

I still bust out his version of Sleepwalk too.

Bummed for the dude. My entire guitar sound is based on his.

The reason he played either of those models was because of his idol, Eddie Cochran(who he portrayed in the Ritchie Valens/La Bamba movie). Of course, it all goes back to Chet Atkins.

Autoimmune diseases are certainly very poorly understood. I was almost killed twice by lupus before even getting a proper diagnosis. It wrecked my hands and left me riddled with nerve damage throughout my whole body.

I’m not saying what I did is a cure, or would work broadly, but I have beat the lupus and healed over 98% of my symptoms. Just a tiny bit of neuropathy remains, and it continues to improve.

If anyone here is suffering and wants my regimen, just PM me.

Its hard to name someone who has done more to reintroduce rockabilly and jump blues to the rock lexicon than Brian. Wish him the best and hoping for a recovery.

There’s a setzer interview where he talks about having to show the makeup/hair person how to do a Cochran pomp since they couldn’t get the wrist flips right but he could.

I have the same thing. Ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks 20 years ago with bizarre symptoms like huge swellings in my wrists and feet. Could barely breathe and not really talk. I would lay backwards in the bed with my feet up against the wall to get relief from the swelling in my feet .
