Setting intonation

Got a new Badass bridge on my Squire VM bass. I cannot get the intonation set though because this cheapie Fender clip-on tuner isn't registering the 12th fret note- at all!

Would an in-line tuner solve this? Thanks!

My Snark clip-on tuner sometimes has a hard time picking up 12th fret notes, but only on the bass that has super light strings. An inline tuner, or tuner that picks up audio signal would both take care of the problem.

I wouldn't even try setting intonation with a clip on. Use a tuner you plug into, if you can borrow one.

My Snark doesn't like picking up the 12th fret harmonic on the B string of my Stingray 5. It reads it, initially, but drops it, then doesn't register a tone at all.

Out-freakin'-standing advice! I downloaded the gStrings app for my Android phone, and nailed intonation down in about ten minutes! Thanks a million! You just saved me a headache and about twenty bucks!

Where the hell did you get a Badass Bridge? I heard and read that LQ stopped making them and the only replicas are from Fender which cost quite a bit...

Get a good Korg. It doesn't matter if it is hand held, foot pedal, or rack mount. Korg are the best. I've used every tuner made over the last 38+ years I've played electric instruments, and only Korg is consistent, durable, accurate and value for money.

Yes indeed.
I have the Peterson Strobotune app and it works great. Plug it directly in to the bass via an iRig.
