FYI, The Bose 802 is very HiFi with the required EQ box. Here is the EQ curve:

I had a chance to demo a stack of 802s pushed by a 400W Bose amp in the early 80s (can't remember if it was 2 or 4). While I thought it sounded great, it had pretty limited headroom. The cabs are rated 240W with a sensitivity of 91dB 1W/1m. My guess is the sensitivity is at 1kHz.

We had a set of 800s in the ARP employee studio ca. 1977, they actually worked quite well for that application.

Well at least they made 3 of em. I gigged it and the seymour 15, 800 watt biamp seymour head never had complaints. Thanks gentlemen

I saw Kyle Brock playing with Eric Johnson through a Seymour Duncan rig with the 800 watt head, 8x5, 2x10 and 1x15 cabs at the Bottom Line in NYC around 1990. Besides that I've seen 'em once or twice in used gear shops over the years.

I recall that my amp guy checked mine out because it was distorting and said something weird like “it’s wired for 4 ohms”.

At the time I just let him to rewire It for 12 ohms with an optional phase switch in the second input Jack to put some of the speakers out of phase.

Rewired it paired better with a 15. Once I got the second 15 I could no longer run it with my GK 400rb so into the closet.

Anyone have info on seymour duncan 8x5 cabinet? I believe it was manufactured in the 80s. Thanks for your help

I kept 2 of these all original SD 8x5 cabs, one is 4 ohms the other is 8 ohms. Why?, because they sound absolutely awesome for bass guitar AND they are EXTREMELY rare. Made in the mid '80's. Both cabs are rated at 160 watts RMS. If you find one with the original drivers scoop it up and keep it. A few photos of my cabs.
