Ordered a set of Sidewinders for my Ibanez project bass on July 10

SW4-BC5 (Bart size) soapbar, 5 string pickup
Item # SW4-BC5 Pickup Options: Set (Deep Neck/Narrow Bridge)

Can't wait to hear them !!!

If the laser covers become available in the future, can I order just the replacement covers?

I'm currently working on your pickups. They should be going out later this week.

For the foreseeable future, the BC5 cases will have the pad printed logo. I have about 200 of those covers.

When I find a new laser etching service I could offer those, but at the moment I have no source for any of the bart sized covers. My usual supplier has been out of stock for a while now. :( I can get them from the source but have to order 500.

You can't switch the covers because the pickups are epoxied inside. Sorry. But the BC5 cover is quite stylish, with rounded ends. :D

Aw, I was really looking forward to the sound of the laser etching ;)

The printed logo looks nice too, and I like that it's very visible. I want people to see that I have these cool custom boutique pickups - as well as hear them!

Your pickups could look great in clear covers :) I'm sick to death of seeing the same ol plastic covers on bass pickups particularly j's, I wanna see the guts and those rails man!

No, they wouldn't! They are fully shielded, so you wouldn't see the guts, just copper foil.

Part of the reason Q-Tuners were expensive to make was that they were see through. That was a lot of work on his part.

I have heard China is cutting the supply of Neodymium and speaker prices are going up. Do you anticipate price increases on your Neo pickups?

China mines most of the neodymium, and actually supplies a good percentage of the magnets used in the rest of the world. I buy my noes from a US company, but I don't know where they get them from. They haven't mentioned any increases in prices.

If I do have to raise prices it wouldn't be by much.

Currently I have blank black closed covers. They look like EMGs.
Just placed an order. Would've been nice to have SGD sig on there :crying:, anyway they'll be going into a 32" warmoth build :hyper:
Edit: David, I wanted to ask your advice on setting up the electronics for this bass. Its drilled for a 4 hole plate and side jack and I was thinking
Vol/Vol/T/T if going passive, or Vol/Vol/Treble/Bass/ (preamp) active & passive with probably no tone control when passive (which is ok as I
usually leave tone pots open). Any ideas what I could do here? How about your 2 band pre will that work with 2 Vols?

I have been looking for pickups that would give a certain sound, and these sidewinders sound like IT.

I just can't decide if I want plus bridge and plus neck, or plus bridge and "deep" neck. I'm thinking the latter, though.

Either way, I sprung some serious basswood when I first heard the samples for the plus.

A there any samples? Do they sound more like wider or narrower ND4 pickups? I got a slight GAS for a PJ set. :)

Here's some VERY rough sound samples. I don't own a P bass, so this is installed in my eight string bass, which has a 32" scale length, and is strung up with a somewhat old set of Rotosound Stainless Swing Bass 66s. The frets are buzzy and the test pickup lacked shielding, and there were wires hanging out, so it was a little buzzy.

The pickup has three modes available, via a 3-way toggle switch, push/pull pots, etc.. Those are series, split single coil, and parallel.

The series and parallel models are dual rail humbuckers in each half. The single coil mode is one coil from each half.
