shared band calendar?

ok, so i'm sure there is a way to do this. i'm looking for a shared online calendar for the band so we can black out dates to make booking easier.

this would have to be online and it would have to be a private calendar specifically for band members. any ideas?

ahhh....never thought of a private fb page. we have a public one, but....

we aren't all on gmail, but i suppose that could easily be fixed.

i googled "group calendar online" and about eleventy bajillion links popped up. anybody have experience with any of those?

We always used a shared google calender. It was great because it connected with all our work, travel personal and band commitments.

It was really effective for accepting gigs on the fly because we had a strict 'if you're not marked as busy in the calender we're playing the show' rule.

this was my exact thought. it really only works if everyone uses it! looks like google calendar might be the answer. any drawbacks or dislikes with it so far?

Does that mean that everyone has to check the account regularly? Or do people get notified when someone adds to the group?

I'll chime in, again, on the google calendar! It's been a huge help.

Also, my band has a private "Group" on facebook. As connected to social media everyone is, it's been VERY efficient for communication. We've confirmed show dates in just a few minutes thanks to it.

I have a million (well, 400) friends, but the stuff in the "secret" FB group always comes to the top - I never miss anything.

We are all on FB daily anyhow (it's great for getting people to come to gigs), so I have nothing negative to say about it. Even our sound technician is in the group.

Google calendar. You can have multiple calendars and email notification.

ha! i didn't misunderstand, but i should have been more clear. i originally googled (searched) this before i posted in this forum. i've never used google calendar, but had heard of it. sorry for the confusion.

We tried Yahoo calendar a couple years ago and it did not work at all. Way to cumbersome.
I like the Dropbox idea.
