Should I be outraged by this?

I just want to hear the background story on this "infamous Dallas CL jerk."
Well the first time I ran into him at the music shop he was trading something in and going through the store telling the shop owner why each insurgent he picked up was crap. Then struck up conversation with me about it. I tried to ignore him but he is very obnoxious. He is from New York with a very thick Brooklyn accent so I just figured he wasn't internally trying to be rude. (In Texas we are generally polite to each other.) after a 10min conversation I relized he thinks he is the final word on used gear. Not a big deal musicans tend to be arrogant when it comes to gear and such. He showed me his CL ad at that point he had a ton of gear at his house so I took note to be on the lookout for his ad's. After a couple of days scam alerts starting poping up regarding his ad's. Some people were angry about him being rude. But a few were about him mis representing items (fender necks on all parts body's being sold as American fenders) (and amps that only work part of the time being on when people show up they turn it off and it won't turn back on) etc. I've never seen more hate ad's in my life. That is when I decided to not do business with him ever. Which sucks because he sometimes has genually nice stuff that I want until I see that he is the one selling. That is just scratching the surface.

You go do that. I've got nothing against cyber-vigilanteism.
If playing pretend cop makes you happy, then by all means...

It's not worth getting your blood pressure up though. That was my point.

The OP seemed to be rather stressed by this situation.
Stress will kill you so I gave him a simple mantra to relax by.
Not stressed I don't bother with him.

I wouldn't be outraged by him. Of course, I wouldn't do any business with him - anyone starting with a lie (or an exaggeration, or misleading, whatever you want to call it), you shouldn't trust. Or support.

I was going to say something about that. It's the difference between knowing your crap and knowing you're crap.

The house band at Rick's Durty Harry's in Key West singer had one of those. At least it was a GT, but it was an automatic.

He pulled a lot of tail, since he was:
1) A good looking guy
2) A good singer in a decent band
3) Had stage presence/charisma, and the Spring Breaker chicks wouldn't realize that a guy singing for a house band in Key West Florida couldn't have owned a real Ferrari. And they were so clueless as to what a real one sounded like that when they got in his car and he fired it up they didn't notice. The dash pod and high center console with GM's automatic shifter, Fiero logos on the steering wheel and door panels was also a dead giveaway
Not to mention the 0-60 time of forever and the fact that it can't be parked on a hill. Lol

I have a Musicman, a Hofner and a Gibson ;)

Why? Because he made you read his ad by using an inaccurate title? He didn't hide the bass's identity or bait and switch in the body of the ad, just the misleading title. Maybe he thinks name brands for musical instruments are iconic, like Kleenex or Xerox (remember them?) No real harm done unless you were duped into buying what you thought was a Ric 4003 (or an even rarer 4002). The only reason to be upset then was that you needed a new pair of glasses. I'd be much more concerned over somebody trying to sell a cleverly disguised mutt as an original pre-CBS Fender.

I'm outraged that the seller doesn't know "you are" contracts to "you're", not your.
"If your a flagger, Do not respond to my posting"

Any good flagger would do it w/o making a fuss, and that is what you should do if you feel strongly about it.

A good flagger with something to sell will get all ads similar to theirs flagged, LOL.

DEAD!

I want him DEAD!

I want his family DEAD!

I want his house burned to the GROUND!

Ok, not really. No need to get your drawers in a bunch over some stranger's cl post. But I can't say I'm above a little bit of juvenile creative trolling...:woot:

So it turns out the p bass copy was not what it was advertised as. It showed up in a local shop last week priced at $350. I played it and it is a very nice parts bass so I traded a 5 string I never play for it straight up. I really dig this thing. There will be a NBD soon.
