If it bothers you, it can be remedied very easily with a bit of work as a couple of posters have said. It does not merit returning.
1) bring it up to the reverb seller. Mention it and see if they will give you some type of refund. Even a 10% will help a bit since you like it.
2) take those savings, buy some tools and learn to fix it. You'll be getting paid to learn to work on gear which will help you in years to come.

Is the base new or used? If new it might be worth taking up with the manufacturer, most instruments have a warranty for defects.
Sometimes what can happen is when the neck is being screwed on for the first time, if the body does not have "clearance holes" and if joint is not perfectly together the screw cuts its thread in such a way that it holds the neck and body apart. Trying to just tighten more and squeeze the gap closed will destroy the threads. It seems guitar necks don't always have "clearance holes" in the body to avoid this problem. (Clearance holes are the standard in engineering.) You could re-drill the holes through the body to exactly the diameter of the outside of the thread of the screws if they are not currently drilled "over-size" and this will allow you to tighten the neck into the pocket properly. You will probably have to do another setup on the bass though. (Also don't over-tighten the screws when re-assembling.)

I would fix it, a-couple-of-dollars/euros fix is not worth the impact and cost of returning. Free-of-charge is definately NOT free-of-charge.
And I thought that white part was the bottom of a seat cushion the bass was sitting on in the photo, turns out that is the pickguard. Skunk stripe, yes it does. I think we have the suspect identified in hypercarrots post. See the OP doesnt even have to respond back, we can count on each other to take the post into 4 pages or more by ourselves!
Provided it sets up and plays fine as is, I would just shape a small shim and drop it on the gap side and forget about it.....
It can happen, but not in this case. The shape of the pocket is the culprit here.

I can imagine your disappointment as I'm in a similar situation. Player bass, some issues (crack in the lacquer on the headstock, truss rod off-center, pickup slanted towards the neck and string retainer slightly off center) but not enough (IMO) to return. If yours is anything like mine (good fretwork, plays and sounds great) I'd keep it. You could add a small shim if your worried about the pocket making firm contact with the neck. Or even better, have it squared off again by sanding it (or maybe having it done). I'd inform the seller, at least they will be aware of the QC issues for the future.

Everybody saying return it.. if its a custom build, ok.. but if its a budget bass, it stays in tune, and plays and sounds good, then forget it and play. A super minor issue
Agree. What's more, OP says it has zero wiggle. And he already unbolted and rebolted, no difference. And it plays good. So all in all, a cosmetic issue.

That wouldn't bother me at all, unless I'd paid well into 4 figures for it... it's cosmetic and as long as the bass is set up ok is irrelevant. You should see some of Fender's products from the late 70s!

I'd return it because I'm not a fan of the color. 
I have experience modding neck pockets so if it was a color I like I might take the few minutes to square off the corner, however, I'd most likely take the easier method and round off the corner of the neck heel to fit the pocket.

Ten minutes with a nail file and you're back in biz, but if it's $15000 custom job it goes back.

Square the pocket. Carefully. It’ll be remedied faster than boxing and shipping. And you’ll be more familiar with your new bass. If it’s a $2k custom (I doubt it), return is in order. I’ve found paint blobs from the spray booth, toothpick pieces, a business card from a sales clerk, and even a small pebble in a brand new Fender Mexican Jazz neck pocket in the early ‘90s. There’s nothing on this pocket that can’t be easily fixed.

Anything you can do to maximize contact between the neck heel and pocket will improve the instrument response. I guess one has to be brave enough to remove the neck and actually take a look.
