Nice! You don't see many mahogany bodied/maple topped Essence basses floating around.

That is mahogany right?
 
I love this bass- I saved a copy of this picture a couple of weeks ago from the showcase thread at Alembic. I'm going to send it to Mica and tell her I want my bass on order to be the same color as the transition color on your burst. I love that amber/tangerine-ish color.

Do you have any other pictures?

I'll take some and post them. I'm not sure why they stopped making these because they are really sweet.
 
Alembic never stops making anything, as they are an extreme custom shop. If they made it once, they can make it again - and that includes the Elan. It may not be in the catalog, but they still make them.

I know, they told me that once when I called the factory. The problem would be paying for the replacement unit. I don't remember the exact figure, but it was not cheap.

Yah, I remember reading that even "discontinued" models can still be made because they still had the templates for them. I'm not sure if this is true in every case, but IIRC they definitely still have Distillate templates, for instance.
