Show me your Alembics

I got a new scale last night. It seems to be 10.5 so I was off. :hmm: It doesn't feel that heavy though. I just ordered a hipshot for it, maybe that will increase the weight a tad.

Probably a similar weight to mine then. I need more accurate scales too! Mine doesn't initially feel heavy; then my leg starts to go numb, which is the start...

You've already seen it, but I took some better pictures of my Europa. The color is more accurate in these. The flash made it look weird in the other pics.

Another +1 to seeing the dela217 collection in all its' glory...what's the current status of the Katrina bass?
+1 here too. I am all too intrigued at what Alembic will do with that so sorely, hurricane-abused bass. No knock on any other brand, because no bass should ever have to go through submersion and all else; but I would never have the confidence I have in that bass's recovery if it were anything but an Alembic...

Bassjigga, that is one helluva good-lookin' bass. I've been wanting to try out a Europa for a long time, but haven't found one at any of the Alembic dealers I know of in Wisconsin. Once I get married, I plan on starting the Alembic fund, and I think I'm going to go for a Europa...

Does anyone have a comparison in sound/feel between the Europa and an Epic (what I have)?

thats a pretty bass, the body shape is not my kind of thing but the woods on that thing are killer. the yellowish tone to it... how does it sound?
It sounds like an Alembic! It's got that really clean piano like tone when I open up the filters all the way, but the ebony neck lam has added some beef to the bottom end.

It's nice being able to pan back and forth between the P/J pickups. The P sounds like a P- a turn of the filter on that pickup takes me from growly to funky thump in no time and the bridge pickup just rocks.

I'm a happy camper- I've bought and sold Fenders, G&L's, Tobias, Peavey T-40's, Zon, Musicman and had another Alembic..... this one does it all for me.
