Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Question for you who actually have pedalboards already -

If you use velcro to fasten your pedals to the board, have you ever had any issues with that method of fastening? Velcro wearing out, pedals falling off, velcro peeling off, issue with the velcro on the pedals, etc?

Some boards are made to primarily use cable ties, which are secure but to me somewhat unsightly, if velcro issues are overrated, I'd prefer to avoid using cable ties.
I prefer cable ties, but the last pedalboard is assembled using velcro, because with them it is easier to rebuild the chain of pedals. however, cable ties lose their strength over time and may fail at the wrong moment. yes and it is more problematic to rearrange the pedals .. someone pedals are screwed to the board with the help of metal plates (look at picture) .. as they say, the taste and color of felt-tip pens are different :D

3M Dual Lock. For real, this stuff is the best. I’ll never use Velcro on a pedalboard again. Check it out it is not too expensive. I get like ten foot rolls off of amazon, or there is a guy who makes kits pre cut to different pedalboard models.

Oh, man, this is really cool stuff! I will look for myself this. Thanks for information

I recently switched to Dual Lock and it's great. A little bit pricey but I'm using just tiny square pieces under the pedals instead of stripes so I can cover 2/3 pedals with the same amount of product I used with one pedal before (using velcro).
Velcro is just fine with most of the people though, I switched to Dual Lock because after some time my boards became a little bit messy.

Dual Lock! The best ever! Velcro sucks especially when there’s furry animals running around the household. DL keeps everything locked and clean. Sometimes have to use extra force if trying to get the pedal off the board but maybe that’s the purpose!

Like I said, I like to use little square pieces so I can have the pedals locked but still easily removable. I live with two dogs and their fur seem to stick to Dual Lock as well as the classic velcro. Maybe is easier to remove on the DL, I don't know since I'm tired of doing the same thing over and over. I leave the fur there, it doesn't bother me.

Never had any issues with velcro, as long as you cover the entire length of the board with a single piece. If you only use small squares of velcro on the board, it will be a lot easier for it to tear off.

Dual lock is rock solid, but unless your board is getting tossed around by luggage handlers at airports, it's overkill (in my opinion). It's almost impossible to remove a pedal from the board without tearing the dual lock off the board with it. I carry my board in a gigbag to rehearsals and gigs and I'm definitely not careful with it. Never had a single issue with pedals coming loose when using velcro.

..so The Black Cat Bass Octave Fuzz arrived today and the EH Bass Micro Synth had to go.. aaand there was still room for another one (ISP Deci-Mate). Now I’m happier with my Nano than yesterday or ever jeijj!!

(I also took the landing lights off for the cleaner look)

Gotta say that the Black Cat is a very loud machine ..maybe too loud? But hey we live only nine times or was it once?

A couple small squares in the corners of pedals is all you need that stuff is strong

Wonder if you could get the micro synth back on if you swapped out for the diamond JR. With top jacks.

I just tried to simulate this with the online PT pedalboardplanner. Unfortunately there was no option to choose the Diamond JR. But I used approx. the same sized pedal that has top jacks instead. Maybe if they all had them?

Well.. I’m still enjoying this current setup! Thanks anyway!

how do you like the mini turbo tuner? does it have a "soft" switch? I am torn between it and the new Pederson Strobostomp HD. My polytune 3 is garbage.
Turbo Tuners are the best, I have an ST-300 and an ST-300 mini and love both, they're very fast, fast enough that I can keep an eye on intonation while I'm playing. I have a Polytune 3 as well. I saw the new Peterson Strobostomp HD tuner at NAMM, it looks great but definitely not a mini. The Peterson has an always-on setting, so does the ST-300, but the ST-300 mini does not, I have to use it in a side-chain.

EDIT: just talked myself into pre-ordering the Peterson from Sweetwater.

Everything I need (for now) on a Gator board, in the bag, that sits on top of my amp. Pedal power is an ISO 5 mounted underneath. The amp also plugs into the Furman. Getting short Lava angled cables helped everything fit as well. Quick and easy setup, wireless or cable.

I have a RoadRunner pedal bag that was handy to set up for a project I am working on right now.
