Show me your compact pedalboard setup

So, further to my "joke" in the previous comment, what makes a board "compact"? I know that there's relative compactness - a board with 16 pedals is compact compared to a board with 40, but I mean, before I had a Pedaltrain Nano, I had a tuner and a Rat clone on a chunk of laminate flooring. Where do we draw the line at compact? Mostly just curious about your opinions.

She did said the size don't matter. I still try to figure out how to put these in a board and still keep it compact and keep everything easy to access.

Actually I would be grateful for any tips either how to build it myself or what to buy that would make things easy.

To me a compact pedalboard is something I can carry with one bass and still use a bike to get around. If I have to take the car because the bass and the board is too heavy to carry like that, I think its not so compact anymore.

I can't come up with anything better. I toyed with the ideas of rules about two rows of pedals being too much, but that would exclude my PT nano (2nd row of 1590A's turned sideways), and rules about numbers of pedals may not work either (my 1590A-stuffed nano was accepted in the Pedal Breeders big board club (or something similar) because I managed to squeeze on 10 pedals. So for selfish reasons I wouldn't want either of those rules.

I wonder what the OP @garmenteros had in mind .... hmmm .... smaller than a PT Jr seems to be his criteria ... and there are a few boards on the first page that meet that criteria but are still larger than PT mini.

Is that the elusive, and possibly illusive, Hotone tuner? Where did you get it? I've looked all over H.K. (where Hotone is based; and never answered my email to 'em) and can't find it, though I've found other Hotone pedals. Rahrargh! I'm jealous.

Does it work well, is it speedy, can you see it well enough on the floor whilst you're standing... ???

I can answer that, I just got one about two weeks ago. Ordered it through Sweetwater. Not sure if they ship to Hong Kong.

Aaaaand.... It's just ok. Not as many LED segments as the Korg Pitchblack, so the display isn't as accurate. Also sometimes it seems to have trouble identifying the correct note, it'll bounce between A and D when tuning the A string, although the #/- display seems stable. Don't get me wrong, it works, and the end result is still an in tune bass, it just takes a few extra seconds to dial it in, because it doesn't give you a very detailed display of how sharp or flat each string is. Which is ok for me as I usually only need to tune once or twice for a 4 hour gig, but someone else might find it unacceptable.

I think it's compact if you can fit it in laptop bag. A 15" laptop bag. None of those 17" suckers.

PT Mini or junior. The mini is quite a bit longer than the Junior. These both do a similar job, depending the shape of your pedals.

For me - without it getting too big (don't ask me how big is too big) Compact is about the use of space. Being clever, maximizing the space you have, getting the most out of something on the small side. Shoe horning lots of awesomeness into a smaller area than

Mine is about the size or pedal train jnr, but on a homemade board, to fit into an off the shelf tool case. I consider it compact as it would have been very easy to just go to a bigger board with more space.

Might not be for me then. My DB is highly susceptible to changes in temp and humidity (of which there is plenty here, and air-con in venues etc), so I'm constantly tweaking the tuning throughout the night (bass cools down on a break, warms to the touch etc) and I'm not even playing guts.

If I can find one here (Hotone is based in HK, after all – how ironic) I may still give it a go, but I don't want to pay shipping.

That pedalboard doesn't hold enough pedals, it needs to hold Mooer.
In fact, you need Mooer pedals than you have.
