Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Not as compact as I used to be, but it’s a place to post pics of my pedalboard, so what the heck...View attachment 4206292
Hi @Lesfunk ! Wich order are you running your pedals? Do you use the BB-1x as an always on boost? I run mine at the end of the chain (before HPF/LPF) but I only engage it on certain songs. Balanced line out to the soundcard to practice at home (never used it live, but it's there as a backup).

This is my DI board. A few of these have come off before in the name of experimentation, but ultimately won their spot back. I use IEMs and a Backbeat.

Signal chain is tuner > comp > octave > driver > subsynth > cab sim > DIView attachment 4202333

That's a great pedalboard. I find it odd that the cab sim is before the Noble. How do they work together?

Pretty cool pic! How are you using both?

Don’t have the Midi Baby programmed or hooked up, but I’ll use it to change patches on the MS60B.

Nice board. I love the Spectradrive.
Me too! I had one before, but didn’t give it a fair shake. I’ve played through a lot of high end pre’s, but when my world fell apart and I had to sell off everything (thank you Jesus!) I settled on this. Traded an MS60B and $20 for it. Love the tone I’m getting, especially with the Spark engaged!

Yeah man, it's a great pedal. I have the mojo mojo before it and they both bring something really different in terms of drive.

Haven't even started with those yet. Didn't actually know it used them. That's good to know though cause I'm not super happy with the drive on their right now. Much to explore!
I recommend trying them, especially for the compressor. Lots of variety there, and very decent choices. I’m a comp guy, and sold a $500 La-1a, and I am very satisfied with the comp TonePrints. I just use a clean boost for the drive knob.

I like the Ego for use with different instruments, in different situation, because of that neutral tone. I set it so it is barely perceptible and it just fills out the tone, and smooths out the peaks. Most listeners wouldn't even recognize that it is there. It is easy to employ (like that!), and works perfectly, for me.

But the Diamond, as you say, has a little character, especially when you start using the tilting tone control. The optical compression is ultra smooth, and very much to my liking. Almost invisible, like the Ego, but great for fattening up the tone a little and getting an even sheen to my playing without screaming "Compression!" The tone control is a different element, really changing the frequency response in a musical way. It is like the voicing control on a lot of amps, changing the tone from bass heavy to bright and crisp with one knob.

I find the Diamond has a cool overall tone with the tilter engaged, but others might find it duplicative and unnecessary, maybe even getting in the way of their tonal balance. It is kind of an idiot-proof one-stop handle on tailoring the tone for different rooms/settings for me. And I like optical comps. That Smoothie is especially useful for me, a very handy set of controls in a small box.

Any of those comps work really well for me, but again, I set them so they are almost invisible as comps, and guys who like a little effect or squash might be able to answer you better!

What about the Smoothie compared to the Diamond?
