Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Keeley board. Fits into the lid of a 3U rack case (19"x5.25").

Now that I'm not gigging, I did this with my PT Jr:

I put together a little board that would allow me to be experimental and try different things for recording a fun and weird concept-based studio/video project with bass as the only melodic instrument, plus give me the most utility with the most efficient use of space.

The signal goes into the three little pedals first...a Southampton All Things Equal clean boost, a Mooer Tender Octaver V1, and an MXR Vintage Bass Octave. Then I route the signal to the back row effects, a Digitech Bass Synth Wah, Ampeg Opto-Comp, Ampeg Liquifier chorus, Biyang Tri-Reverb, MXR Carbon Copy, then into the Tech 21 VT Deluxe that provides cab sim plus clean/dirt/fuzz presets. For recording, though, it'll function as a cab sim for my PF-50T, which I'll just crank a bit when I want bass dirt.

A month and a half ago, though, I bought a cheap Dean 6-string banjo just because I had an idea for a couple songs where I thought a little banjo would sound good. Next thing you know, my duo becomes a power trio. I'll be micing for the clean sound and recording through the KNA pickup I got for it for a more effected sound. Turns out the VTD is a good pedal for banjo dirt, which is good because I can't get it to overdrive my PF-50T without adding extra boost. And then the boost adds noise floor, so I'm taking the easy way out and just using pedals for dirt. Got a couple other dirt pedals I want to try, but I'm pretty happy with how it sounds using the VTD if I cut the bass response.

Board for this weekend's gig and Clear Picture reunion jam. Signal path: mimidi Noise > Boss LS2 > EHX Synth 9 (strings) > DOD Boneshaker > EHX NYC BassBalls Modded > TC Sub n Up mini > Austone Electronics Fuzz Nutz TexTone > DOD 440 Filter > GGG Ala @karter2000 BrassMaster Looney Clone > loop return >. Zoom B2

I love it! And yes, it’s powering the pork&pickle since the x4 only has 4 outlets. So far it’s all working great and no noise issues when I played a dive bar with suspect power last weekend.
That's awesome. I'm a fiend for tuner pedals. As an aside, I just got the x4 this week. Weird situation, My Strymon Ojai puts out 500mA per jack regardless of how many pedals I had plugged in. It was causing my wireless to not work at all (can only handle 250mA per manual) and a fuzz to act up.

I'm gonna be the a-hole and say that the strymon isn't putting out 500mA all the time. If it were that would mean it was modulating its output voltage to find 500mA and it just doesn't do that. I don't doubt that something is wrong with it, but it isn't that.

Recently finished my (first iteration) compact pedalboard as well. I had some big boards over the years but the efficiency on this little boy is second to none:

Peterson StroboStomp HD -> Boss OC-2 -> Darkglass HyperLuminal -> RNDI // Pedaltrain Nano + TrueTone 1SPOT

Thinking of:
  • Getting a big boy power supply like the Cioks DC7
  • Replacing the HyperLuminal with a Cali76 CB
  • Adding a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes / Damnation Audio MBD-2 (and moving the Behringer P1 on top of the RNDI ofc)
  • Trying the EBS DLX Gold flat patch cables that everyone seems to love around here

That is everything I would do if I were in your shoes :bassist:

Grizzly all the way for me though.

I wanna check out that Bitmap so bad. You loving it?
Actually I've had a bit of a splurge in getting the 2 synth pedals and Bitmap plus the Boss EV-30 all in the past couple of weeks (fortunately managed to source the whole board used, which saved a few bucks!) and I literally set them up on the board last night, so I'll be able to report back properly in a month or so's time when I've had a proper "play" with them all. A mate of mine on this side of the Pond got the Bitmap the same time as me (we both imported directly from the US) and he's a little ahead of the curve on this. His first impressions of the Bitmap were:
"Just snook in a little play to find the most appealing spot in the signal chain (after my dirt pedals, not before). It's very nice. Soooo much tone control in there and it's going to need hours of play, but just messing with the basic settings, I'm very happy!"
"It's VERY good... and plays well with other pedals too. Very impressed."
