Show me your compact pedalboard setup

So, I am constrained on board size to the 14" NANO that fits in my MONO Tick. But, it can function on its own without the sidecar...

(The Trace Elliot SM7 EQ Preamp does fit in the front pocket of the MONO M80 Gigbag.)

I had a good dude at a welding shop cut a nice channel in the side for the power cable.

I have 18v to SM7 EQ, DG X7, HPF and the DG HL has the 250mA voltage doubler @ 18v.

9v for the Night Owl Edison, Splitter/Buffer & EHX Analogizer.

There are two signal chains:

(A) Edison - HPF - Splitter/Buffer - DG HL - EHX Analogizer - Trace SM7 - Trace VA350 Flat Response Tube Preamp (3 x 12AX7)

(B) Splitter/ Buffer - DG X7 - ISP BETA Rack Preamp <Alembic SF-2> - Trace VA350 Preamp In

= 6 x 6550 Tube POWER Amp / Reeves 4x10"

Done!

How is the Mu Tron octave? Why did you pick that one over all the others (OC2, Aguilar, etc.)?

Also: How is the fuzz? I’ve never heard of them before.

Thanks.
Mu-Tron Octavider is really cool, the ringer gives it an edge over the other octave pedals I've tried, I still have an MXR VBO that will find a place back on the board when the new bigger board gets here. Will run the VBO full wet like an OC-2 and the Mu-Tron will do other things.
The Fuzz on Octavider is kind of coarse, like saw tooth, but it has it's uses and works really well with the other Mu-Tron pedals at times.

Funny how I’ve come full circle through the boutique and exotic camp back to Sansamp and Boss on my board. My Peterson tuner is amazing, but I’ll probably be pulling it from this board as well in favor of a Boss wazacraft TU-3w simply for the easy battery access.

Boss pedals are cheap and plentiful on the used market, super reliable, have easy access to the battery compartment (this is important if you gig often and different venues), and the drive has a clean blend and EQ… these are both vital to your low end in a live mix. Same with the HPF on the bass chorus that leaves your lower frequencies dry.

These aren’t my “coolest” pedals, but they are the smartest utility choices I’ve made for a live gigging rig. And this board fits in a mono tick strapped to my mono gig bag for a hands free load-in (not all my gigs require an amp).

I went through a similar thing with my guitar board. Had a Klon KTR, an Analogman King of Tone and Strymon Volante. In the end, I preferred the Boss Blues Driver and Delay.

I'm going thru a Boss revival myself. Put the RV-3, PS-3 and DSD-2 back up on my board. There's just something that feels right about the Boss sound.
I feel like the context in which we use these things makes a big difference as well. There definitely were subtle nuances to some of the boutique pedals I tried that I can appreciate. But in a live mix, all that nuance is lost, and often times I sacrificed a lot more than I gained with those fancy pants pedals. Bedroom volume boutique overdrive sounds fantastic, but often disappears in a live mix (along with all your bottom end). Clean blend is a must for me. EQ is a must as well. The Boss bass overdrive delivers both, along with great battery access and tank-like build quality. Sounds fantastic in a loud mix as well.
Does it sound like organic tube overdrive while playing alone in my music room?… Absolutely not! But it gets the job done at a gig without me having to worry about it.

So do you play without any power supply with this board? Is the Sansamp phantom powered?

... But in a live mix, all that nuance is lost,...
Please, can someone make a t-shirt with this sentence above the Jamerson pic?

It's great to see those old Trace Elliot EQ's. I rocked one of these on my Old TE head for more years than I'd like to admit. I've had several TE compressors over the years too. It amuses me to think that my TE gear was once "the biz" / "best of breed", but now considered vintage.

...so how's your board coming on?

I am specifically rocking the TE SM7 EQ Preamp for the Pre-Shape #2 tone and some Graphic, because I always preferred the SM/SMX GP12 sound. I pulled the GP11 Mk V Preamp out of the VA350 and I'm installing a vent panel to increase airflow around the 6 x 6550 power tubes. The Flat Response Valve Preamp is taking the first signal chain into the Instrument Input. (The second distortion based chain is going into the ISP BETA Rack Preamp/Alembic SF-2 and then to the VA350 Line (Preamp) Input.)

Is that a Schmidt Array board? Classy!
It's not, it's my DIY home brew. It's certainly inspired by Schmidt. However, mine is substantially lighter (1kg) and at the time Schmidt didn't make a board in this size...although now they do so maybe my construction has retuned the "influencer" favour. I love the Schmidt Arrays, very nice boards.

You did a great job! Could have fooled me!

I use a onespot with daisy chain, but the Sansamp does accept phantom power. That would allow me to run the boss pedals off of 9 volt batteries if need be. Some gigs make it hard to plug in too much gear, and some venues have questionable power on stage.
