Show me your compact pedalboard setup

I know I’ve commented before but I dig the Black Cat! :)
I’ve had a couple before and ended up selling them unfortunately. I’ve been on the lookout for another but they seem scarcer than usual. I think Black Cat may have closed their doors as well. They were never very good at communicating but not a peep now and the website looks like it’s just an archive.
Hold yours dearly! Nothing sounds like it.
Stay healthy my friends,
Brent

Thanks! I love it too. I’m pretty sure they are done. I emailed them a ways back because the switch was getting temperamental and I got no response. I was annoyed at the time, but now I’m just thankful I have it. With the Vulcan and the Beelzebub, it’s pure thunder.

Here, have a listen…

My OC-2 sound (SA C4) will never leave my pedalboard. It's a sound I love to use, it's a common sound from my generation, used by a lot of the influential bassists that I like. Interestingly it gets the most complaints from acoustic guitar playing narcissistic worship leader millennials. But I remind them that I am the owner and leader of the low end, it's my choice...not theirs. Their opinions are contained to their bandwidth on the mixing desk and not for my sonic niche. In fact I'd say 90% of the criticism I get as a bassist...usually comes from these types.
I choose if I'm going to play fretless, or fretted. It's my choice of effects...it's my creative space. If I hand over this control, I'm actually allowing them to control beyond their boundaries.

I need a second compressor now.
Actually, I've got this sound without a fretless or 2nd compressor. Although there's a fair amount of difference between the live and studio versions. It's pretty much an OC2, then EBS Multi compressor then CE-1 Chorus. Played with a pick and fresh strings. Dual humbuckers and round wound strings. The rest is in the playing a syncopation.

I was all super excited to replace my gargantuan 90’s Russian bassballs with the nano.

I got it in a couple months ago, put together the board a month ago, and still haven’t plugged it in.

Have you compared the sound of the Sovtek BassBalls with the Nano BassBalls?
EHX Bass Balls my all time favorite defect, I own several of originals and NYC versions and clones - but none of those.

I was all excited to do a comparison, I was concerned the nano wouldn't sound as good, but still haven't done it.

I still have the wooden box for the russian.

Hello Compact Wizards! I recently bought a Rockboard Duo 2.2, which I'm looking forward to turning into my "studio board", which will have 7 pedals for practicing and composing.

My problem is, when I go to drop in my trusty Cioks DC7, I don't see any way to use all seven jacks, without removing one of the cross members -- or am I missing something?

Any tips welcome...

Not sure about the 2.2, but on my 2.1, I just removed the mid piece and it worked fine.

Two options come to mind; First, consider moving the U-channels toward the ends. Second, EBS makes right angle power cables that may solve the issue for about $70 - $100 US. I would go with the first option myself.

Yeah, you can use a hex key to remove that middle portion. I did that with my Rockboard Duo 2.0 and it worked fine. I think the material is strong enough without the middle portion.
