Show me your compact pedalboard setup

IMG_5045.jpeg

I’m officially back!

I missed having a conventional pedalboard. So, this was my favorite iteration of setups that I had used. I was going to mount it to a Metro 16, but I figured space would be a bit too tight. A Metro 20 with a soft case did the trick. I also ordered a Tour case to store the board in.

I’m happy with the Helix Floor (and trusty HX Stomp that is a great back up!) and I probably won’t be moving on from it. It is nice to have pedals again! :)

I love the stomp on a board because I feel like I have a lot more continuity of tone overall (and simplicity in doing so, ver good for me) since I can run direct, use it as an interface, plug it into my phone, use my iPad to play synths through my rig via usb, etc.

No reason you can't integrate it into a small board! :)

Rad board! Great choices all around. How's the Aguilar comp? Do you play four string basses?

Yeah I play a Nash Mustang or a Fender P. I use the Aguilar comp always on with mild compression as a tone sweetener and it’s great in that role. I previously had the keeley bassist which was great as a limiter, but too transparent/clinical for me otherwise and the Aguilar adds a little something.

Thanks for the word! Agreed re Keeley Bassist. I moved on from that after learning I didn't want only a limiter.

Have you written about comparing the Valve to Edison?
Now's as good a time as any.:D

Hard to do a true A/B test but the Hagerman Valve & the stock Edison [5th series run, no boost switch] are pretty similar. Both add that welcome tube characteristic. While the stock Edison sounded fine, per Seth's suggestion, I sourced an NOS Tesla tube which increased the headroom compared to the stock tube and Hagerman Valve. The Edison, while more expensive, has a more board friendly design as well, while the Valve is more at home in a studio setting. Both are very easy to dial in, just set the volume to taste.

Thrilled to have them both to add that tubey goodness no matter where I'm playing. The Hagerman was a great value @ $128.00 [pre Xmas sale] and well worth adding to my home practice board. Don't think you can go wrong w/ either. Just depends more on your application.

If you have ever seen one of my boards, you know I love to maximise every bit of real estate. I have been toying with how to get a Swiff audio tuner and a Spark mini mounted together (tuner above the mini) so they take up minimal space and be used together easily. I finally whipped something up today. This gets the tuner up high enough to operate, and also allows for rail spacing on different pedal boards, that don't play nicely with mini pedals. Not sure which board it will go on as I am pretty happy at the moment, but I'm sure an opportunity will present shortly! Might even look and including a power y cable on here also.

Last pic shows a comparison to a D'Addario tuner. Overall depth is a couple of mm more than a Aguilar pedal.
Any ideas for improvement welcomed!

Well I think that's literally the most compact two-pedal board I've ever seen. Shut it down, you win.

Excellent results, well done!

How do you like the Swiff tuner? I was looking at that when searching for a mini tuner. Decided on the Joyo, which has worked great so far in it's limited work space.
