Show me your compact pedalboard setup

So, I tried the Gator mini board. Loved its compact size and the fact it fit inside the front pocket of my dual bass case. I haven’t completely written it off or anything. I just felt weird about having my pedalboard in there, especially gigging with the Noble.

I went back to my Metro 20. I also added a second DCX for drive (the first is for tone shaping). I figured I can keep this board in its tour case or soft case.

Dunlop mini bass wah - I am not so sure I’m completely sold on this one yet. I don’t know if I’m just used to Morleys or what. Haven’t decided which I want to go with.

The next few months are for experimenting with things. I’ve joined a band that gigs quite a bit. March starts our tourist season here, kicking off with spring break. I have some time to iron things out.

Mini Pedalboard 12-2024.jpg

My current mini or even micro sized board for a quick set up and tear down with everything mounted on a folding mic stand, this is a clip on shelf and runs off a power bank to power the MS60B, Zoom Q2HD recorder and iPad Air 2. It's for a singer/songwriter set where I usually go to the PA or occasional backline through the Pedalnetics DIm Stick.

Here we go again.

I bought one of the new Ghost Fire pedalboards. It's an obvious Mono ripoff. Both it and the bag are substantial and was well worth the $70 I paid for it. I may buy another one for guitar.

The changes here are that I kicked off both the second Multiwave and the MS70CDR+. I had one song I was using the HX One on as a pitch shifter. The Zoom was being used as a delay in another song. So I relearned the part in Drop D so I could use the octave fuzz on the Multiwave. Now the HX One is at the end, where it can do delay, glitch delay, and other weird stuff. The Zoom may end up coming back, but it'll be a super tight fit. I like this for now.

One note, the bag is gonna need to stretch out to accommodate the Multiwave. It fits, but it's snug!

This is my rig. In the studio currently running balanced stereo out but will also slap a radial DI on the blank portion and run mono. I feel like it is all I will ever need.

If anyone has a good pre-set with an auto wah and a synth bass pre-set please send it my way. I can't quite get it dialed for those settings. Would love a punchy synth sound with quick release (little to no sustain).

I also like having at least one compact rig that can run on batteries. The second one below includes a Zoom MS-60B that I modified with a stereo headphone out for practice, travel, etc.

Wait, the multi-stomp units are all capable of driving headphones? I followed your link and see you just put a wire in to make a single jack stereo but a y-cable would do the same without mods. I think I'm getting the new 60B+ for Christmas and hope this is true for the newer units! I thought they were all just line level.

Anyone using just that ciok 4 expander module as a standalone with usbC?

Seems really tempting I could power it with a simple usb c dongle or use a power brick if no outlets for a quick shift between my practice spaces in the house.

For me, a mini pedal board with 4 jacks is just fine. I have a voodoo labs 5 for my top of amp always on chain.

I do this, works perfectly.

Yes, I power my “home” pedalboard this way. Will post the picture here, it’s pretty compact!

I have done this and will do it when required.

I have 2 Cioks4 power supplies. Read the manual however about the reduced total output from a power bank. The Cioks 4 has a total max output of 40w when powered by an adequate power supply, with a 3A power bank it is 9w total.

Watts = Volts x Amps. I used 2 different power supplies with mine to get max output. A 19V DC x 3A (57 watts max output) laptop style power supply have mounted under my board, or a 24V DC x 1.7A (41 watts) wall wart style power supply.

Was thinking of using one of those GaN chargers. 40w supplies are pretty small these days. I have a 100w that is smaller than my wallet.

Good point about the power bricks. Quick search and a $20 anker units are now providing 20-30w with 26800mAh capacity.

Will look into the manual and plan accordingly. I think my pedals will draw about 5-10w.

Right, as I mentioned in the headphones mod thread, I could have opted for a Y cable, but it's a clumsy workaround that I've tried several times with other units. A single jack is more graceful and more reliable. Plus the mod is basically free, while a good Y cable is not. I have not tried the Zoom 60B+ yet. Would be nice to know if the mod can be done there too.

Final update/spam for a while I hope. Only thing that hasn't changed is my mini board.

RB Quad 4.1 stripped and set up as a bigger board integrating the HXS in. Digbeth I have had for a while now in play with the LA-1A. LA-1A and the MS60B/LS-2 in the FX loop of the Digbeth. DC7 getting a full workout powering this set up. If you want a CAPO but can't justify it, the Digbeth is a really good option. The tube like break up on the attack of the note is awesome when set right

Resurrected my home made PT Jr sized board. My Aguilar/analog board now powered by a Cioks 4 with a 19V DC 3A laptop style power supply strapped underneath. Works great, super quiet. All the Ag pedals powered from one outlet, the boss from another. THDI on its own power outlet. One loop spare to power a wireless. This board can be powered by USB powerbank too! Boss NS-2 is for finger noise when using fuzz for synth sounds, otherwise it's off.

RB Duo 2.1
A CAPO came up local so I grabbed it. Awesome sounding Pre. Wampler EGO76 is in the FX loop of the HXS so I can put it where I want in the effects order. HXS is in the Pre loop of the CAPO. Made a little brkt for my Loopi pedal which are pedals 4 & 5 for the HXS. Can be used with larger board also. It just vecros in place and uses a foot of the board to locate it.
