I just installed an Aguillar OBP-2 today (18 volts) so there's a big battery box on the back now. It sounds great! im pretty stoked

LOL! Forgot to mention I replaced the stock pickups and pots in 1979 with an early EMG active pickup. It has the P sound on steroids...

Your bass has a serial number quite near the number of my bass. Mine has S881892. Is it possible that they are made during the same period?(I have had some difficulties trying to date my bass)

You'll wonder why I posted so many pictures of this. I'm inappropriately proud of my '99 Squier Affinity P-Bass.

Mods:

- defretted
- poorly spray painted
- no controls
- homemade plexiglass pickguard
- rerouted output jack on a poorly cut piece of aluminum
- new tuning machines (took about an hour to get the holes routed out to the right size. used to have those awful closed back things on it.)

I think that's about it.
